ARTIST BIO I strive to combine my love for simplicity with my love of nature. I begin most every piece of work by pinching and coiling and embrace the natural, imperfect shapes that come from that process. Intuitive marks coexist with the soft tex- tures on the surface of my work to create a modern and naturalistic aesthetic. Using a medium such as clay allows me to make utilitarian art that is made from and is reminiscent of nature.

by Kendyl Matthews ARTIST STATEMENT My relationship with art is one of restoration. My art is not to represent outward pre- sentation but inward understanding. Art is a universal language. It is not contained by one socioeconomic sect. It calls to our need for healing, vulnerability, and trans- formation. Art does not require an innate talent, only a desire to grow and under- stand oneself and the world around us. Art helps me to understand what is possible and allows me to celebrate what I am feeling. My approach to art is not to focus on the final product, but the process. by Gréti Müller ARTIST STATEMENT (άλάλητος (alalétos) = adj. unutterable, inexpressible, too deep for words.) I became aware of my “alalétos” moments when I was a child. I found that sometimes my words could not capture the feeling of the morning wind on my face, my deep wish to offer help to someone in need, or the way I loved my mother. I started to paint to embrace these moments and make them last a little longer. Now, a few years later, it is my faith that has been bringing me many “alalétos” moments. I paint in response to what they trigger inside of me and to invite others to share in them, to share in it.

53 Back toTop GARCIA AND SCOTT

ARTIST BIO Garcia and Scott are genuine, artful and real. They write, produce, record, and perform their own songs and videos. To date, the duo has released two albums: “Garcia and Scott” and “Down in Jimmy’s Basement.” Presently, the pair is working on a third album. As much as they love writing and performing original material, they also enjoy putting their own spin on choice covers. As Gary would say “I wish this was a song that we had written!” When they’re not at home in Nashville, writing and recording, you’ll find the husband and wife duo out on the road, performing an energetic and original blend of Rock, , Alt-Country and Latin influenced acoustic music at clubs, theaters, festivals, fairs and concert series throughout the south and midwest. Garcia and Scott have added Europe to their list of dates - performing in Madrid, Barcelona and Dublin. The duo’s signature sound is defined by strong lead and harmony vocals, Scott’s rhythmic guitar style and Garcia’s percussion.

ARTIST BIO Dubbed a “Troubadour of life,” Andy performs at venues across the nation, includ- ing MerleFest, the Walnut Valley Festival, the Hall of Fame, and the Station Inn. He plays his deep-rooted original songs alongside the old-time, folk, blues, and bluegrass gems that first inspired him as a musician. It’s a winning combination of his trademark creativity, humor, and optimism as a songsmith, award-wining guitar and chops, and deep love and knowledge of Ameri- ca’s musical roots. His songs and his spirit are a tonic for hard times. Andy’s credentials include playing Carnegie Hall, a Grand Championship on guitar from Union Grove, NC., and a song on a Juno, Gemini, and Apollo Award-nominat- ed album and television show. His album, “Room for Roots,” and his song, “Woman in the Wings,” stayed on Roots Music Report’s “Top Americana Country” charts for two years. ENJOY PERFORMANCES BY CLICKING THE LINKS BELOW!
