As a guitarist he covered the tunes of American variety bands such as Green Day, NOFX and Bad Religion. In 2009, Glover became Penguin Prison and a debut album, chock-full of catchy hooks and classic pop choruses, quickly followed. MAIN STAGE Micah Brown This 20-something guitarist and singer-songwriter, based in Dana Point, blends his early influences of blues and folk. Micah co-produces and releases his solo work of original music with producer Lewis Richards from 17th Street Recording Studios in Costa Mesa. Little Hurricane This San Diego duo's bruised sound is rooted in restless rhythms and heated hooks. Drummer CC turned to Craigslist for collaborators. She found Tone, a songwriter, and they began crafting songs in CC's living room. This vibe is reflected in the vintage furniture (complete with built-in speakers) and lamps on stage with Little Hurricane. Wanda Jackson Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wanda Jackson is known as “The Queen of Rockabilly” and is credited with being the first woman to ever record a rock and roll song, “Let’s Have a Party, in 1958. Her mainstream country hits include "Tears Will Be the Chaser for Your Wine", "A Woman Lives for Love" and "Fancy Satin Pillows." Berlin Berlin is an American New Wave/Synthpop band. More than one million people, including the pope and other dignitaries, have seen the boys’ live performances. Moonsville Collective Moonsville Collective is an old-time band whose sound is rooted in the various American musical styles found, and often left behind, in pre-World War II America. The songwriters work independently and collectively to create a unique batch of string band, folk, country, Dixie and New Orleans rag music. The Soft Pack The Soft Pack makes a racket that lies somewhere in between post-punk and post-Warren Zevon. In 2010, they released singles "Answer to Yourself" and "C'mon" and spent much of that year on tour. They have appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Their latest album, “Strapped,” was released in 2012. With his remixes, edits, original tracks and collaborative project Runaway, he has released music on internationally acclaimed labels. MAIN STAGE He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister This eclectic L.A. band featuring sibling vocalists – Robert and Rachel Kolar – and a tap dancing drummer exudes the earnestness of folk, the colorfulness of glam rock, the rawness of blues, the theatrics of cabaret and hip shaking of rock-a-billy. The White Buffalo The White Buffalo's song “Wrong” was featured in pro surfer Chris Malloy’s popular surf movie, “Shelter,” creating a burgeoning fan base and leading to further film scoring and composing work, with songs featured in FX's hit show “Sons of Anarchy” and HBO's “Californication.” The White Buffalo has a hard working, no frills approach. They load their own gear and pack it all up at the end of the night. Adam Green & Binki Shapiro This duo is cherished by indie fans for their off-kilter sensibility (him) and elegantly quirky style (her). Green first came to prominence as one-half of Moldy Peaches, which enjoyed belated mainstream success via the Grammy- winning soundtrack of the 2007 indie film “Juno.” Shapiro was with Little Joy, a breezy Brazilian-accented Los Angeles group that enchanted both critics and listeners with its eponymous 2008 debut LP. Dan Krikorian Dan's latest venture, "Windsor Blue" is influenced by various sources, including classic literature and Bob Dylan. Dan finds his own voice by mixing a unique blend of folk, Americana, blues and pop to explore everything from family and love to mortality and loss. Dan will perform his song, “Costa Mesa My Sweet Home.” the official song of Costa Mesa’s 60th anniversary celebration. To download a version of the song, go to www.costamesaca.gov/song Chevy Metal Featuring members of the Foo Fighters, Chevy Metal is a 1970s dirt rock cover band. Here’s how they describe themselves: “We play deep cuts off albums by Sabbath, Van Halen, Queen and The Stones, to name a few. If you want us to play your party, we'll do it for a million dollars.” Eric Burdon &The Animals Formed in Newcastle upon Tyne during 1962 and 1963 when Eric Burdon joined the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo, they were dubbed "animals" because of their wild stage act and the name stuck. A rocking version of the standard “Baby Let Me Follow You Down” (retitled “Baby Let Me Take You Home”) was their first single. It was followed in June 1964 by the transatlantic No. 1 hit “House of the Rising Sun.” Burdon's howling vocals and the dramatic arrangement created one of the first folk/rock hits. The band was a headliner at the Newport Pop Festival in 1968, held in Costa Mesa. City fathers did not welcome the Festival back for 1969, so the 60th anniversary concert is a return trip for Eric and his Animal band mates.
