It has been compiled in consideration of the priorities identified in the East Lothian Single Outcome Agreement to assist local partnerships and service providers to better understand the needs of their local areas. Centred on the town of Haddington, the ward stretches from Athelstaneford in the North, the Lammermuir Hills in the south east, and Ormiston in the west. Figure 1 - Ward Map (Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland) PLEASE NOTE - Throughout this profile a number of different sources have been used to gather statistical information, which each use different boundaries and area definitions. In this report: Haddington & Lammermuir refers to the East Lothian Local Authority ward area (as in the map above) Haddington refers to the individual town as defined by the census settlement boundaries Intermediate zones are also used to present variations within the ward. In this case the Haddington North Zone, the Haddington South Zone and Haddington Rural covering the villages across the ward East Lothian East refers to the combined Dunbar and East Linton, North Berwick Coastal and Haddington Lammermuir wards, and is divided into East and Rural East Data zones are the smallest geographic areas at which data is collected and analysed. July has been a good month with lots going on. Plant and bee surveyors have been particularly busy recording their things but the ever-present litter picks and path and site maintenance tasks continue too. Events for volunteers have included a woodland wander at Yellowcraig and a hugely popular and spectacular boat trip around the islands. I have been busy with bright lights in beautiful locations. Read all about this, and more, in the following pages. It would be wonderful to receive articles from any of you about what you have been up to in the countryside (within reason!) or topics you think fellow vols might be interested in.     Welcome to Pencaitland 1 Welcome to Pencaitland and a new beginning. Moving anywhere new can be a rather daunting experience. There is so much to do and in the midst of it all so much to discover about the community into which you are settling. At the local Church we have put together this pack in order to help you settle in and give you a flavour of the local community. Pencaitland is a lively village with activities for all ages. In putting together this welcome pack we have tried to give as much information about these activities as we can. We have also tried to give you contact details and where to turn for more information. Where there is no area code, the number is an 01875 one and does not need a code when dialling from Pencaitland. If there is anything else that we can do to help you settle in then please do not hesitate to contact us.
