NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2020 1 Daniel was in the Judaean captivity of 585 b.c., when the CHALDEAN EMPIRE nation was conquered by Babylon. In captivity, Daniel looked to serve King Nebuchadnezzar in any way he could. The king 625–538 B.C. had a dream one night that deeply puzzled him. He called for all his magicians and astrologers to explain his dream and its MEDO-PERSIAN EMPIRE meaning. They couldn’t. Finally, the Prophet Daniel came to 558–330 B.C. him with the answer. Daniel explained: “[T]here is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these” (Daniel 2:28). Nebuchadnezzar’s dream held a prophecy for “the latter days”—our time today! GREEK EMPIRE Daniel taught the king about the God of heaven who reveals 333 B.C. secrets. Nobody else can reveal or interpret God’s Word. Think about the great Being that Daniel is talking about! Though few people realize it, He rules this Earth and universe and always will! He orchestrates events to work out according to His master plan. The Bible foretells scenarios about America’s cities so nightmarish, some are difficult to conceive. But these recent destructive trends definitely make these prophecies far easier to imagine.

The Prophesied Fate of Cities Many of the prophecies in the book of Isaiah are for our day, this period concluding man’s rule on Earth.
