Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street - Walk of Fame Additional Name in Terrazzo Sidewalk-

RECOMMENDATIONS:

A. That the City Council designate the unnumbered location situated one sidewalk square southerly of and between numbered locations 12P and 12p as shown on Sheet #21 of Plan D-13788 for the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the installation of the name of David Foster at 1750 N. Vine Street.

B. Inform the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce of the Council's action on this matter.

C. That this report be adopted prior to the date of the ceremony on May 31,2013.

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT:

No General Fund Impact. All cost paid by permittee.

DISCUSSION:

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame the name of David Foster. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2013 at II :30 a.m.

The communicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N. Figueroa Street, 3rd Floor, Counter 23.

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has approved the below listed name for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

DAVID FOSTER (Category -RECORDING)- Requested star location to be 1750 N.Vine Street, on the east side of the street, in front of CAPITOL RECORDS. The star for DAVID FOSTER will be situated in the second row, (next to the stars in the original row) of CONRAD NAGEL (12P), to the north and BEVERLY SILLS which is numbered (13P) to the south. According to sheet # 21 plan 13788, DAVID FOSTER's star has no number as it will be placed in the second row closest to the building. The star for DAVID FOSTER is between to the (North) and the star of BUDDY HOLLY in the second row which points to the South. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:30 a.m,

Discussed began by Greg Ashlock regarding looking for more national radio personalities. He approached Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern and both declined to be considered at this time.

Discussion was held regarding terms of committee members. Mitch felt that the three positions that were to be termed out in TV, Radio and Recording still had one more year to go. Leron Gubler mentioned that this would be discussed with Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Chairman Marty Shelton in an upcoming meeting.

David Foster is the ultimate Hit Man. Producer, , TV host, discoverer of talent, noted author, hit maker and record company executive - and an artist whose influence In some of the biggest names in the music business is without precedent. He has been an integral part of the biggest and best talents in the music industry including , Barbra , , Chicago, Michael Buble, , , , Earth Wind & Fire, N'Sync, , , , , , , , All 4 One, , Brandy and many more.
