OVERALL 148-175-46 Now in his 11th year in charge of RMU men’s hockey, Schooley enters the 2014-15 season with AT ROBERT MORRIS Same an overall record of 143-175-45. Last season, he led the Colonials to their first conference title and AGAINST CONFERENCE OPP. 96-97-35 inaugural NCAA Tournament appearance. Following the banner year, Schooley signed a four-year contract extension that will keep him in Moon Township through the 2019-20 season. SCHOOLEY AS A HEAD COACH “I feel very fortunate to have started something very special from the ground up,” Schooley YEAR SCHOOL RECORD/FINISH said. “Making the NCAA Tournament was very exciting for not only me personally, but for everyone 13-14 Robert Morris 19-18-5/5th AHA* who has been involved in the first decade of RMU hockey.” 12-13 Robert Morris 20-14-4/5th AHA Schooley has been a college hockey coach for 17 seasons, starting with stints as an assistant 11-12 Robert Morris 17-17-5/7th AHA at Cornell University and the Air Force Academy. PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE Schooley started his coaching career with the Chicago Freeze of the North American Hockey ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH Air Force League in 1997 as an assistant coach and director of scouting. 2002-2003 Schooley has been a head coach at the USA Hockey Select 14, 15, 16 and 17 Festivals. He also has spoken at numerous USA Hockey youth coaching clinics as well as the USA Hockey Masters Coach- ASSISTANT COACH United States U18 Select ing Clinic. In August of 2002, Schooley gained international coaching experience as he an assistant 2002 coach of the United States Under-18 Select Team, which placed fifth in the Junior World Cup. Following his graduation from Western Michigan, Schooley played for the Huntington Blizzard of ASSISTANT COACH Air Force the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) during the 1994-95 season. During the 1995-96 campaign, 1998-2002 Schooley spent part of the season with the Blizzard before joining the Flint (Mich.) Generals, where he helped the team to a Colonial Hockey League (CoHL) regular season and playoff championship. ASSISTANT COACH Cornell A 1994 graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commu- 1997-1998 nications, Schooley was a four-year letterwinner as a defenseman with the Broncos. He tallied 23 assists and 27 total points as a senior, when he led Western Michigan with a plus-minus rating of ASSISTANT COACH/ Chicago Freeze plus-22 and won the team’s Grinder of the Year award.
