Following the UK Finals, Jack and 2018 winner Lewis Newton were selected for to join Squad UK in the lead up to WorldSkills Shanghai in 2021. Along with students and apprentices from across the nation, the duo will spend 18 months training in the WorldSkills UK Talent Programme before facing a selection test to become part of Team UK at WorldSkills Shanghai 2021. Taking part in WorldSkills UK competitions provides a great opportunity for students to raise their confidence and enhance their employability skills. It is the perfect motivational platform for students to fine-tune their skills, test them against others and receive up-to-date careers advice.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR? The Prince’s Trust Team programme is aimed at 16-25 year olds who are unemployed, and lacking in qualifications or confidence. It’s a great opportunity to develop your existing skills and gain new ones. Even better, it’s free of charge and doesn’t affect any benefits.

You’ll work in small teams of 12-15 young people, all different ages and from different backgrounds.

As well as gaining invaluable life skills, you’ll work towards a Prince’s Trust Certificate in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills. This is offered at Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. You’ll also get the opportunity to enhance your maths and English skills.

Highbury is also the first provider in the country to offer one extra-special team programme, especially designed for young people with a learning difficulty or disability.
