Parish Workday – June 21 -The Knights of Columbus and the Pastoral Council are requesting a few good men and women to join with them to paint the exterior of the Rectory. Repairs were recently made to the roof of the Rectory which required replacement of part of the soffit. It has been primed and now must be repainted, along with the rest of the exterior. Please contact Don Barnett (828-2037) or Jayne Longley (828-9095) if you can participate. Remember, the more volunteers we get, the faster we can complete this project! Teenagers are also welcome! Lunch and drinks will be provided to all volunteers. “May the gracious care of the Lord, our God, be ours“ and may he “Prosper the work of our hands.” (Ps 90:17) Confirmation Classes: -The classes for the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Francis of Assisi will be held on the following dates: June 14 and 28, July 12 and 26, August 9 and 23, and September 6 at 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the parish hall. We will have Hamburger meal followed by a general meeting, we will be voting in Officers for 2014-2015 year. KC 4th Degree Assy #2041 Meeting on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St Mary’s Parish Hall in Hearne. Social starts at 6:15pm with a Hamburger meal at 7:00pm followed by a general meeting, we will be voting in Officers for 2014-2015 year. Book presentation and discussion: - We will be hosting an exciting presentation and discussion of Matthew Kelly's "Seven Pillars of Catholic Spirituality" at the parish hall on Thursday June 12th at 6:30 pm. This program will challenge you to become the best-version-of-yourself, inspire you to live life to the fullest, encourage you to act purposefully and direct you to a deeper conversation with the Creator of the universe. Coffee and light snacks will be served. For more information, contact Benita Ebel at 979-828-3878 Bringing Christ to the Brazos Valley: The Source and Summit of our Catholic faith is Christ truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist. He is the Bread of Life that feeds us and only He can satisfy the hungry hearts in our families, our community, and our world. You are invited to bring Christ to the Brazos Valley this Feast of Corpus Christi by participating in a Corpus Christi Procession on June 19th. The procession will start at 6:30 pm leaving from and returning to Central Park in College Station. We will carry our Lord through the public streets in a 1 mile loop, stopping for songs and prayers. A trailer will be available for those unable to walk. Children who received their First Communion this year will have a special place in the procession. At the conclusion, there will be time for celebration and fellowship in the park. Join us June 19th as we come together as One Church to adore and glorify Our Lord. VBS SCHEDULE: -Vacation Bible School will take place on July 22 – 25 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for children that have completed Kindergarten – completed 5th grade.
