Mlb on Fox 2014 Is a Whole New Ballgame MLB ON FOX 2014 IS A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME Regular and Postseason Games Coming to FOX Sports 1; BASEBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA Carries Prime Time Slate on FOX Leading into All-Star Game New Pregame Show Precedes Games on FOX and FOX Sports 1 New York – This spring, MLB on FOX is a whole new ballgame. Heading into 2014 armed for the first time with FOX Sports 1, America’s new national sports channel, FOX Sports brings fans of the national pastime more coverage of more games, more excitement and more unforgettable moments than ever before as MLB on FOX ushers in a new era. FOX Sports, MLB's primary broadcast rights holder since 1996 and exclusive national broadcast partner since 2001, this year begins a new eight-year, multiplatform media rights agreement that adds national cable and digital coverage to its portfolio, doubling regular season exposures, mostly on Saturdays, from 26 to 52 combined on the FOX Broadcast Network and FOX Sports 1, with 20 Saturday doubleheaders, 10 exclusively on FOX Sports 1 and 10 split between FOX Sports 1 and the FOX Broadcast Network. FOX Sports 1 makes its MLB debut on Saturday, April 5 with a doubleheader as the Minnesota Twins take on the Cleveland Indians (1:00 PM ET) followed by the San Francisco Giants visiting the Los Angeles Dodgers (4:00 PM ET). The NL champion St. Louis Cardinals debut in FOX Sports 1’s first primetime showing on Tuesday, April 8 (8:15 PM ET) with a visit from their division rival Cincinnati Reds. Fresh off an inspirational and thrilling 2013 championship run for the city of Boston, the World Champion Red Sox premiere on FOX Sports 1 Saturday, April 12 (1:00 PM ET) against their longtime nemesis New York Yankees, from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y. The FOX Broadcast Network picks up its first Yankees-Red Sox matchup on Saturday, June 28 (7:00 PM ET). I’m really glad I’m a part of it.” With 11 games remaining, the Braves own a 3 1/2-game lead in the National League East. Their magic number to clinch a third consecutive division crown is nine. They’ve gotten to this position thanks to an offense and bullpen that have managed to compensate for rotation woes. How good has the offense been? Well, entering Tuesday, the Braves led the Majors this month in both runs (105) and home runs (35). Yeah, this can happen when you score 29 runs in one game. But it’s worth noting that no other team had more than 25 homers and the Mets (85 runs) were the only club that had tallied more than 80 runs.
