Welcome to New Faculty Provost Melinda Stephens shares the news that we will welcome new faculty members in key roles coming to Geneva this fall. We look forward to seeing them on campus. Dr. Angela (Gill) Johnson will be joining the faculty as an Associate Professor of Biology in August 2020. Angela is an Alumna of Geneva College, having graduated with a B.S. in Biology in 2001. She earned her Ph.D. in Pathology from Case Western Reserve University in 2008 and completed post-doctoral positions in the Department of Ophthalmology at Case Western, and the Departments of Molecular Genetics and Immunology at the Lerner Research Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Johnson comes to us from Notre Dame College where she has is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Biology. She has been a full-time member of the Notre Dame Faculty since 2012. Dr. Deana Mack will be joining the faculty as an Associate Professor of Education in August 2020. Deana earned her B.S. in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh in December 2000, a Masters of Arts and Teaching from Pitt in August 2002, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership and Management from Robert Morris University in 2011. Dr. Mack holds Pennsylvania teaching certifications in Elementary K-6, Special Education N-12, Middle Level English/Language Arts 7- 9, Middle Level Science 7-9 and Middle Level Mathematics 7-9. She taught 4th grade and 6th grade at West Allegheny School District for seven years. After completing her doctorate, she served for three years as an Instructor at California University of PA followed by six years as an Assistant Professor at Waynesburg University. Dr. Mack currently serves as the chair of the Education Department at Waynesburg and will transition to a similar role at Geneva in August 2021. .
