La Administración Marítima y la Autoridad Portuaria de Gibraltar acuden a los eventos de Cannes y Londres
Gibraltar, 8 de septiembre de 2014
La Administración Marítima de Gibraltar (Gibraltar Maritime Administration, GMA) participará en la edición de este año del prestigioso Festival de Yates de Cannes (Cannes Yachting Festival1), que se celebrará entre el 9 y el 14 de septiembre de 2014. Se trata de uno los principales eventos internacionales en el calendario náutico europeo.
El Festival, que reúne a varias de las empresas marítimas más importantes del sector, cuenta con una larga trayectoria como escaparate internacional para la presentación y promoción de una amplia variedad de productos y servicios para yates.
Además, el evento ofrecerá a la GMA una excelente oportunidad para darse a conocer en la Riviera francesa, expandir las relaciones de negocios y establecer nuevos contactos con los principales miembros del sector.
La delegación gibraltareña estará encabezada por el Administrador Marítimo (Maritime Administrator), Richard Montado, y la Registradora de Yates (Registrar of Yachts), Diana Soussi Avellano, además de la Autoridad Portuaria de Gibraltar (Gibraltar Port Authority) y cinco empresas privadas: Gib Oil, Allabroad Sailing Academy, Ibex Insurance, Register a Yacht y World Marine Services.
Asimismo, el Capitán del Puerto (Captain of the Port), el Contraalmirante (Commodore) Bob Sanguinetti, también estará presente.
Montado declaró que está será la primera participación de la GMA como expositor en un evento internacional.
Montado manifestó: “En nuestro stand también estarán presentes expositores que representarán al sector marítimo de Gibraltar. En él ofreceremos asesoramiento experto y una visión general de las instalaciones y servicios para los yates y sus propietarios que ofrece Gibraltar”.
Dado que su presencia coincidirá con el Día Nacional de Gibraltar (Gibraltar National Day) el día 10 de septiembre, la delegación ofrecerá su propia celebración, incluyendo una copa para los invitados VIP y la suelta de globos rojos y blancos a mediodía.

El 12 de septiembre, la delegación gibraltareña ofrecerá un festejo para clientela afluente y personalidades destacadas del sector, seguido de una presentación sobre el Registro Marítimo de Gibraltar (Gibraltar Maritime Register), los servicios que ofrece, y sus proyectos actuales y futuros.
El Ministro de Turismo, Asuntos Comerciales, Transporte Público y Puerto, Neil Costa, celebró la participación de Gibraltar en este exclusivo evento, conocido por sus novedades mundiales.
Costa declaró: “El Gobierno de Gibraltar desea dar máxima exposición a nuestro sector naviero, nuestra privilegiada ubicación geográfica y el excelente trabajo que llevan a cabo la Administración Marítima y la Autoridad Portuaria de Gibraltar. Promocionar el Puerto y los servicios profesionales que ponemos a disposición de los propietarios de yates en un evento tan distinguido forma parte de nuestra estrategia de marketing proactivo para elevar el perfil del Peñón en este sector”.
Antes de acudir al evento de Cannes, Montado y el Capitán del Puerto, el Contraalmirante Bob Sanguinetti, se desplazarán a la Semana Internacional del Sector Naviero en Londres (London International Shipping Week2) que se celebra cada año en la capital del Reino Unido. Se trata de uno de los eventos más importantes para la comunidad naviera internacional, que reúne a ministros de varios países, armadores, operadores y otras importantes personalidades del sector.
Montado y Sanguinetti aprovecharán su presencia en Londres para reunirse con importantes personalidades de la industria naviera internacional con el objetivo de promocionar Gibraltar como centro clave de negocios relacionados con actividades portuarias.

Gib Port and Maritime Administration attend Cannes and London boat-shows
The Gibraltar Maritime Administration will be taking part in this year’s edition of the prestigious Cannes Yachting Festival (September 9-14 2014) – one of the leading international events of the nautical calendar in Europe.
The festival which brings together some of the most prominent maritime companies in the industry, has long been established as a global showcase for the presentation and promotion of a wide diversity of yachting products and services.
It will also provide an excellent opportunity for the GMA to carry out networking activities in the French Riviera, to expand business relationships and forge new contacts with key players in the sector.
Gibraltar will be represented by a delegation led by Maritime Administrator Richard Montado and the Registrar of Yachts Diana Soussi Avellano, the Gibraltar Port Authority and five private companies: Gib Oil, Allabroad Sailing Academy, Ibex Insurance, Register a Yacht and World Marine Services.
Also present will be the Captain of the Port, Commodore Bob Sanguinetti.
Mr Montado declared that this will be the first time the GMA is participating at an international event as exhibitors.
He said: “At our stand we will also have co-exhibitors representing Gibraltar’s maritime industry, where we will be able to provide expert advice and a general overview of Gibraltar’s facilities for yachts and its owners.”
As their presence will coincide with Gibraltar National Day on September 10th, the local delegation will be having its own celebrations including drinks for VIP guests and the release of some red and white balloons at 12 midday.

08/09/2014 3/4 On September 12th, the Gibraltar contingent will be hosting a party for High Net Worth Individuals and industry VIP’s, followed by a briefing on the Gibraltar Maritime Register, the services it offers and new developments and upcoming projects.
Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port Neil Costa MP, welcomed Gibraltar’s participation at this exclusive event renowned for its world-wide premieres.
He said: “The Gibraltar Government is keen to give maximum exposure to our nautical industry, to our privileged geographical location and the sterling work carried out by the Gibraltar Maritime Administration and Gibraltar Port Authority. Promoting the port and the professional services available to yacht owners at such a distinguished event is in keeping with our proactive marketing strategy to further enhance the Rock’s growing reputation in this field.”
Prior to attendance at the Cannes event, Mr Montado accompanied by the Captain of the Port, Commodore Bob Sanguinetti, will be travelling to the London International Shipping Week that is held every year in the British capital. This is one of the most important events for the global shipping community, bringing together Government ministers, ship owners, operator and leading stakeholders in the industry.
Messrs Montado and Sanguinetti will take advantage of their presence in London to meet senior members of the international maritime trade to further promote Gibraltar as a major business centre for port related activities.
