Abstract. The Lower Jurassic and the lower part of the Middle Jurassic deposits corresponding to the Sołtysia Marlstone Formation of the Lower Subtatric (Krížna) nappe in the Kopy Sołtysie mountain range of the High Tatra Mts and the Płaczliwa Skała (= Ždziarska Vidla) mountain of the Belianske Tatra Mts in the eastern part of the Tatra Mts in Poland and Slovakia are described. The work concentrates both on their lithological and facies development as well as their ammonite faunal content and their chronostratigraphy. These are basinal de- posits which show the dominant facies of the fleckenkalk-fleckenmergel type and reveal the succession of several palaeontological microfacies types from the spiculite microfacies (Sinemurian–Lower Pliensbachian, but locally also in the Bajocian), up to the radiolarian microfacies (Upper Pliensbachian and Toarcian, Bajocian–Bathonian), and locally the Bositra (filament) microfacies (Bajocian– Bathonian). In addition, there appear intercalations of detrital deposits – both bioclastic limestones and breccias – formed by downslope transport from elevated areas (junction of the Sinemurian and Pliensbachian, Upper Toarcian, and Bajocian). The uppermost Toarcian – lowermost Bajocian interval is represented by marly-shaly deposits with a marked admixture of siliciclastic material. The deposits are correlated with the coeval deposits of the Lower Subtatric nappe of the western part of the Tatra Mts (the Bobrowiec unit), as well as with the autochthonous-parachthonous Hightatric units, but also with those of the Czorsztyn and Niedzica successions of the Pieniny Klippen Belt, in Poland. -

The Gómez-Alba palaeontological collection of the MGB-MCNB. We present the catalogue of the palaeontological collection belonging to the late Dr. Julio Gómez-Alba, former curator of Palaeontology at Barcelona’s Museum of Geology, now integrated in Barcelona’s Natural History Museum Consortium. He proposed the donation of his collection to the city of Barcelona in November 2010 and the Barcelona’s Institute of Culture (ICUB) accepted it on the 11th February 2011. Formed by 4.990 specimens and 25 batches, it is not the col- lection of a palaeontological researcher but that of a general palaeontologist. Many items in this collection were figured in a field guide authored by Gómez-Alba (1988) dealing with the fossils of Spain and Europe. The catalogue is, apart from some minor corrections, the literal transcription of the database originally associated to the collection that –since its acceptation– has neither been updated nor revised. Two species of Aalenian Tmetoceras have been identified on the basis of morphological, bio chronological and palaeobiogeographical data: T. scissum and T. regleyi. T. scissum was dominant among the Tmetoceras populations developed in the Betic and Lusitanian basins during Opalinum, Murchisonae and Bradfordensis biochrons. Popu lations coniposed by evolute individuals of T. scissum inhabited shelfal or oceanic envi ronments. A chronocline, from rectiradiate and primitive forms to flexicostate and derived forms, can be recognized in these populations of T. scissum. In contrast, shallow epiconti nental platforms were inhabited by involute individuals of T. regleyi. This second species was phyletically derived from T. scissum, representing an adaptive radiation from popula tions of shelfal or oceanic basins to populations of epicontinental platforms. E-Mail : [email protected] Résumé Depuis sa première description, le genre Septimaniceras Fauré, 2002 a été systématiquement considéré comme un genre endémique, avec une répartition géographique limitée à la région des Causses et du Languedoc (France, province nord-ouest européenne). De même, l’espèce Crassiceras bayani (Dumortier, 1874), d’affinités méditerranéennes, était interprétée comme une forme spécifiquement nord-ouest européenne cantonnée au sud-est de la France, et ne dépassant pas la région lyonnaise en latitude nord. Nous décrivons ici les présences inédites des espèces Septimaniceras pseudoyoungi (Guex, 1972) et Crassiceras bayani dans la sous-zone à Variabilis (Toarcien moyen) de la région de Thouars (ouest de la France). En conséquence, nous étendons considérablement la répartition géogra- phique de ces taxons. Au vu de ces nouvelles données, il est probable que le genre Septimaniceras ait été endémique du sud-est de la France dans la partie supérieure de la sous-zone à Bifrons puis ait étendu son aire de distribution jusqu’à la région de Thouars à la base de la zone à Variabilis. -
