The 2020 season will consist of eight events, seven of which will count towards the Investec Order of Merit. Included in this information pack is the format and conditions of competition of the individual events.

ENTRIES:

Entries can be completed online, by logging in to the players’ login page on www.sunshineladiestour.com or from your mobile phone on the Sunshine Ladies Tour app.

As all entries will be done electronically, all players MUST complete the attached personal details from and return it to Barbara Pestana at [email protected]

Upon receipt of the completed personal details form players will be sent their login instructions along with their username and password. If you are a first-time participant on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, your login details will be created and sent to you.

By entering any of these events, players confirm that they have read the tournament conditions and agree to abide by the rules and regulations of both the SA WPGA and the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

Dimension Data Ladies Challenge and Pro-am (Professionals Only) a) The leading 50 available professional players off the 2019 Sunshine Ladies Tour Players Ranking list b) A maximum of 10 invitations nominated by the Sunshine Ladies Tour Format: 54 holes stroke play and better ball medal with an amateur partner with a cut after 2 rounds to the leading 30 professionals (stroke play) and ties. The leading 10 teams will compete in the final round, in the case of a tie for 10th team position after the 2nd round, there will be a count out using the 2nd round score. The first two rounds to be played at George Golf Club and the final round at Fancourt Outeniqua. Prize Fund: R600 000 and R100 000 Better Ball Medal

Canon Serengeti Par 3 Challenge The leading 20 available professional players off the 2019 Sunshine Ladies Tour Players Ranking list and the winners of the four 2020 season tournaments leading up to the Canon Serengeti Par 3 Challenge. Format: Saturday & Sunday - Professionals will compete in a 36-hole stroke play event, as well as a four-ball alliance with two scores to count. A team will consist of two professionals and two amateurs. The amateur team will buy their two professionals by way of a Calcutta Auction. Prize Fund: R150 000 (minimum) Team Fund: R50 000 (minimum) Each professional will receive an additional R5000 for participating

Prize funds will pay out to those making the cut and amateurs will be in addition to the cut numbers. The exchange rate for the Investec South African Women’s Open will be fixed on the Friday, prior to the tournament.

Whilst every consideration is taken into account regarding details of events, the Sunshine Ladies Tour reserves the right to change dates, venues, prize money or any other aspect of an announced event at short notice. In this exceptional circumstance, players are reminded that they will not be compensated for any inconvenience.

Additional information:

1. INCENTIVES:

The 2020 Investec Order of Merit, which will commence with the Cape Town Ladies Open, will be based on a points system (points breakdown below) and the top three placed professionals on the final Investec Order of Merit will gain automatic entry into the 2021 Investec South African Women’s Open.

The winner of the 2020 Investec Order of Merit (points table), at the conclusion of the Investec South African Women’s Open, will receive a bonus prize of R100 000 (one hundred thousand rand). In order to qualify for the Order of Merit bonus prize, players must have competed in at least four (4) events in the 2020 Sunshine Ladies Tour season.

The winner of the Jabra Ladies Classic will gain automatic entry into the , which will be played in the week of the 7 – 9 May 2020 in France.

The winner of the Investec South African Women’s Open will have the following exemptions: • Tournament Winners Category Exemption for the remainder of 2020 and the 2021 season • Exemption for the Women’s British Open 2020 • Exemption for in 2020

In addition to the above, the following privileges will be granted for the 2020 season by the Ladies European and Ladies European Access Tour:

• The leading player will go directly to final stage and two additional players will receive a LETAS category.

• The player going straight to final stage will at worst receive the equivalent of the 2019 Category 13a if she does not gain her card or non-exempt status on LET. The two other players will appear after Category 13a (before the current 13b).

• The leading player off the OoM, not otherwise exempt, will be invited to the , which will be played in the week of the 1st – 7th June 2020 in Morocco.

NB: If the Investec Order of Merit winner is already exempt for the final stage of Tour School or entry into the Lalla Meryem Cup, these would be passed on to the next person on the Investec Order of Merit list. However, this would not extend beyond those finishing in the top ten on the Investec Order of Merit.

The Canon Serengeti Par 3 Challenge will count as an event played, but no points will be awarded.

2. FIELD COMPOSITIONS:

All fields will be filled off the 2019 Sunshine Ladies Tour Player Rankings, based on past Order of Merit winners, tournament winners and the 2019 Order of Merit (see Player Rankings attachment). Any places not taken up by professionals may be filled by amateurs using the WGSA ranking system as at the closing date of entries unless otherwise published. A maximum of five amateur invites per tournament will be considered as and when required.

Any tournament participant who records a score of +16 or more in the first or second round may be retired. This regulation shall be implemented at the Tournament Committee’s discretion having taken into consideration prevailing weather conditions.

Pro-Am fields will be filled off the 2019 Sunshine Ladies Tour Player Rankings, participation is obligatory.

Amateurs will be required to sign an Amateur Status Confirmation and Prize Money Waiver form prior to the commencement of their first tournament on the Sunshine Ladies Tour. Amateur entrants must have a maximum handicap index of 2.5 at the close of entries.

3. FEES:

The entry fee for each event will be R400.00 (including VAT) payable on or before the Tournament Entry closing date, as indicated on the Tournament Schedule. Prize funds will be paid out net of any applicable taxation regulations and a 7.5% player’s levy.

4. GENERAL:

A tournament specific players’ fact sheet will be sent out to all entrants after the closing date of each event, this information sheet will also be available in the players’ login area.

All tournament invite requests must be sent to Barbara Pestana, ([email protected]) before the closing date of each event. Requests received after the closing date, will not be considered.

The use of distance measuring devices will be allowed at all events, with the exception of the Investec South African Women’s Open. These devices must be conforming and may only measure distance and NOT slope.

Practice rounds at all venues are for the players’ own account, unless advised differently on the players’ fact sheet.

Yardage books will be available in the tournament office from practice days. Please see order form attached. Books must be pre-ordered and pre-paid.

All players must register in person at the tournament office or telephonically / electronically no later than 10h00 local time on the day before the first round of each tournament.

Only players who have paid and registered by the 10h00 deadline, will be included in the tournament draw.

Where possible the closing date for entries will be approximately two weeks prior to the start of the event as detailed on the attached Tournament Schedule.

A compulsory players meeting will take place the evening before the start of the first event and all players participating in this event are required to attend.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TOURNAMENT PLAY

The complete Code of Behaviour of the Southern Africa PGA Tour as incorporated in its Members General Regulations is the basis of the Code of Conduct, which outlines the relevant codes applicable to tournament play and the penalty structure for breaches of such codes.

A. Code of Conduct: i. Best Effort – Failure to compete professionally in a manner that either creates negative exposure for the Sunshine Ladies Tour or upsets fellow competitors, or in an attempt to contrive a result for ulterior motive ii. Misconduct – Club abuse, use of audible obscenities, incidents resulting from drunken or otherwise provoked socially unacceptable behaviour by a competitor or her caddie, dangerous play leading to or which could have led to serious third-party injury iii. Injurious Conduct – actions or comments that may harm or discredit officials, fellow competitors, sponsors, promoters, volunteers, third party contractors or the Sunshine Ladies Tour iv. Failure to report a Breach of the Code by a fellow competitor or to properly assist in an enquiry regarding such a breach v. Alcohol Consumption – The consumption of alcohol on the course during a round of a Sunshine Ladies Tour sanctioned tournament is an offence, including during a suspension of play if the competitor’s round is not yet complete vi. Significantly careless infringements of the Rules of Golf or deliberate breaches of the Rules of Golf in order to gain an advantage

B. Disciplinary procedures for breaches of the above code: i. The above code is for guidance and illustrative purposes only and shall not prejudice the Sunshine Ladies Tour’s discretion to determine the seriousness of a breach, on a case by case basis, in accordance with the relevant facts and evidence obtained ii. For purposes of applying a penalty for a breach of the code during play of tournament, an Official of the Sunshine Ladies Tour or the Tournament Director or the Tournament Committee, may issue such penalty immediately iii. First breach of the code – verbal warning iv. Second breach – one stroke penalty v. Third breach – general penalty vi. Fourth breach or any serious misconduct – disqualification

C. Appeal against a penalty imposed: i. If a competitor is dissatisfied with the imposition of any penalty for breaches of the code, she must appeal to the Tournament Director immediately after play, before she signs and returns her score card ii. The decision of the Tournament Director shall be final and binding iii. No appeal against penalty strokes or disqualification will be considered once the final result of the tournament has been declared and posted on the notice board

2020 SUNSHINE LADIES TOUR – APPEARANCE OF PLAYERS

The Dress Code Policy shall be in effect while “inside-the-ropes” at all WPGA/SLT Tournaments, during player meetings, Pro-Am functions and at all Tournament Week-related functions:

Players are expected to dress and present themselves in a professional manner at all times both on and off the course. Players clothing and shoes shall always be clean, neat and tidy and most importantly appropriate to the game of golf. Length of shorts and skirts/skorts, and shirt necklines, should be in good taste and portray a professional image. Undergarments may not be visible.

The following articles of clothing are strictly prohibited: jeans(all colours), cut-off shorts, work-out gear, joggers, leggings (unless under shorts or skirt/skort), t- shirts that are not produced as part of a golf clothing line, tank tops, and tops with low-cut necklines or that show midriffs. (Note: Designer jeans are acceptable to wear on travel days to and from the golf course, during Pro-am functions (if permitted by the host club); however, jeans with stylized holes, rips, tears, etc. ARE NOT acceptable.

Any exceptions to the Dress Code Policy for specific occasions or events will be noted on the tournament fact sheets and/or posted on the player notice board in the tournament office.

PENALTIES

Breach of this Policy will incur disciplinary action which may be a verbal warning in the first instance whilst subsequent offences will automatically incur a fine. Repeated violations may result in more serious disciplinary action.

As the Dress Code Policy cannot address every eventuality, this policy and related guidelines will be monitored, enforced and interpreted by Tournament Officials who are present at each event.
