It’s about time I wrote about Mobil cards. Yep, I’ve written about them before in this column, but they continue to be the item I’m most often asked to value. I’ve received four such requests in the past fortnight alone. And the news wasn’t particularly good. It was 1964 when the Mobil oil company decided to attach its brand to the WAFL with a set of 40 postcard-sized collector cards. Each card featured a WAFL player and there were five players from each team. The photographs were in portrait style, with the players posing for their photographs. And a 1971 set for $120.
