EMERY LECRONE. Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Emery LeCrone began her training at The School of and continued her work at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She attended summer sessions at the School of on scholarship, studying under former dancers Peter Boal, Kay Mazzo, Suki Schorer, and Susan Pilarre. After completing high school in 2005, she accepted a position with North Carolina Dance Theatre, under the direction of famed New York City Ballet principals Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. In her free time with the com- pany she began to choreograph and created her first piece for North Carolina Dance Theatre II in 2006. In 2010, she received a generous grant from The Jerome Robbins Foundation’s New Essential Works (NEW) Program, directed by Damian Woetzel, for the creation of Divergence for . Ms. LeCrone has also taught master classes and choreographed several new works at renowned university dance departments and schools such as The Academy of Dance Arts, The Studio New Canaan, Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, The Greensboro Ballet, Hartt University, Barnard Dance Department, and Peridance Capezio Center. Currently, Ms. LeCrone resides in New York City and continues to teach, perform, and choreograph. Recent and upcoming commissions include The Juilliard School’s annual New Dances program (December, 2012), the University of the North Carolina School of The Arts Winter Dance Program (February, 2013), Minnesota Dance Theatre (May, 2013), and St. Louis Ballet (October, 2013).
