PITCHERS (Left to Right) Jason Dominguez Sean Richards Justin Cassel Joe Guntz Ian Kramer

2001 Season Pitching Outlook

The Chancellors finished the 2000 season with a team ERA of 4.38 and look to improve on that mark in the 2001 season. Chatsworth returns it’s two primary starters from last years team in Joe Guntz (11-0, 3.78 ERA) and Sean Richards (9-2, 62 innings pitched). The team also looks to Sophomore Justin Cassel (3-0, 2.25 ERA) and Freshman Jason Dominguez to challenge for a spot in the starting rotation. Senior right-hander Ian Kramer out of the will anchor the Chancellors staff. VARSITY2001 TEAM

CATCHERS (Left to Right) Brent Paet Danny Dominguez

2001 Season Catching Outlook

Danny Dominguez is the projected starter behind the plate for the Chancellors in 2001. Danny is an outstanding defensive catcher who handles the pitching staff masterfully. His good arm and quick feet kept opposing base runners in check in 2000, as he threw out 50% of the runners who attempted to steal. The backup behind the dish will be Brent Paet, who has been promoted from the Junior Varsity team. Brent has good defensive skills to go along with his strong bat. VARSITY2001 TEAM

2001 Season Infield Outlook

George Spadier, another returning senior will solidify the first base position and is expected to produce offensively for Chatsworth. Joe Guntz and Justin Cassel, both expected to focus primarily on pitching could also see time at first base during the season and possess excellent power. Ryan Barba will make the move from 3rd base to shortstop his junior year. Ryan performed brilliantly at 3rd base last year and produced surprising power with 4 HR during his sophomore campaign. Brett Munster will make the move up from the junior varsity team and is expected to start at 3rd base for the Chancellors. Brett possesses excellent defensive skills and will be relied on to produce both offensively and defensively in the 2001 year. Seniors Arthur Chavarria and Paul Baumstark will anchor the defensive infield. VARSITY2001 TEAM

OUTFIELDERS (Left to Right) Brian Lee Jason Dominguez Jared Halpert Jon Selman Jason Zuniga

2001 Season Outfield Outlook

Junior Brian Lee returns to the outfield for his second year. Lee led the Chancellors in hitting last year (.436) and will be relied on to have another outstanding year at the plate. Brian will be the starting left fielder. Another junior will return in the outfield for Chatsworth in Jared Halpert. The defensive leader of the outfield, Jared possesses excellent speed and tremendously improved arm strength and accuracy. After hitting .346 for Chatsworth last year Jared will be a focal point of the Chancellor offense and defense. Senior Jon Selman and Freshman Jason Dominguez will compete for the right field job with each bringing excellent skills to the field. Jason Zuniga will also be involve in all of the outfield positions and could see a bulk of his time as a pinch hitter of the bench. JR.VARSITY2001 ROSTER
