NARRATIVE- RENDER: The notion of camouflage was rethought within the project in terms of geologic phenomena in keeping with the thesis of the site as a kind LANDSCAPE “TEXTILE” STUDIES of “primitive”. In treating both the building form and landscape as a kind of singular tectonic fabric a series of “seismic events” could SGHS DISSIMULATED | NTS be mapped upon their surfaces carving out various new topographies which would blur the lines between field and object.

DRAWING: RENDER: NARRATIVE- Like much of Los Angeles the new SGHS is best understood from the air as its horizontal logics become increasingly visible with 3 FLOOR PLAN 03 HELI-VIEW altitude. From above one can begin to understand the building-landscape hybrid as a series of disciplined vectors alluding to a SGHS DISSIMULATED | NTS SGHS DISSIMULATED | NTS mature city grid. 4 STUDY MODELS 3 OBJECT STUDY 2 1 SGHS DISSIMULATED FINAL DETAIL MODEL: SGHS DISSIMULATED FINAL MODEL: | NTS | NTS
