Arctic animals can be grouped into different groups according to their characteristics. BACK NEXT www.planbee.com Arctic animals can be grouped into these three groups.

A mammal is a warm- Mammals blooded animal that has hair or fur.

A bird is a warm-blooded animal that has wings, a Birds beak and feathers. It can usually fly.

A fish is a cold-blooded Fish animal that has gills and fins and lives in water.

BACK NEXT www.planbee.com The walrus is a mammal. It has fur and is warm-blooded.

The walrus has large tusks and whiskers. It has short, coarse hair all over its body. The walrus has thick skin with wrinkles. It also has BLUBBER, which you can’t see in the pictures. Blubber is a thick layer of fat under the walrus’s skin. This makes the walrus look very large.
