2017 Pacific Mini Games Logo Competition 2017 Pacific Mini Games Logo competition The Organizing Committee of the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu and VASANOC (Vanuatu Association of Sport And National Olympic Committee) invite all Vanuatu residents to take part in the 2017 Pacific Mini Games Slogan, Logo and Mascot design contest. Submit original drawing or logo design in accordance with the Theme “2017 Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu". Two drawings (Mascot and logo) and a slogan will be chosen at our General Meeting on Tuesday 6th, May 2014, and some will be exhibited at the VASANOC Haus. specifications of the design and slogan 2017 Pacific Mini Games Logo: The design should be simple but attractive so it can be widely used as an official Letterhead, Masthead, Posters, T/shirts, Banners etc. to publicize the Games. The design must depict something of relevance or authentic to Vanuatu. The design must be easily identified. The design should be restricted to only four principal colours. The design do not necessarily have to accommodate ALL the colours of the National Flag – i.e. Black, Red, Green, Yellow. The design may also be done in an abstract form so long as it is understandable and not too complicated. 2017 Pacific Mini Games Mascot: Design of an animal or item that is easily identified with Vanuatu. Colour is not necessarily important. 2017 Pacific Mini Games Slogan: Write a short sentence which could symbolize Vanuatu Pacific Mini Games 2017. Slogan must not excess 10 words. Regulation Art.1 : Organizer The Organizing Committee of the 2017 Pacific Mini Games and VASANOC (Vanuatu Association of Sport And National Olympic Committee). Art. 3 : Candidates The competition is open to everyone who live in Vanuatu. Art. 4 : Submission Criteria There is no fee to enter this contest. This contest is based on a spirit of voluntary participation. Contestants must be Vanuatu Resident. Designs must be hand drawn and should be submitted on A4 sized papers. One paper for mascot's drawing and one other one for the logo and slogan. The slogan should be written at the bottom of the sheet used for the logo. To qualify, Submitters must provide accurate and complete information. name, surname, date of birth, contact number or email address. Participants may only submit one entry for logo and slogan, and one entry for Mascot design. The Contest begins on Tuesday 1st April 2014, and ends in Wednesday 30th April 2014 at midnight Vanuatu time. All entries to be addressed to the VASANOC Office, P.Box 284, Port Vila, Republic of Vanuatu (Send by email or drop them at VASANOC office). Art. 5 : Judging Winners will be chosen by the Organizing Committee of the 2017 Pacific Mini Games and VASANOC. Submissions will be reviewed based on the following criteria: - Relevance to the theme : " Vanuatu Pacific Mini Games 2017 " - How well submission reflects Ni- Vanuatu culture - Creativity and originality The winner will be announced publicly after the General Meeting. Before naming the winner, the Review Panel reserves the right to verify that the procedure for participation of the potential winner is in full compliance with these Official Rules. If Organizer fails to make contact with the potential finalists or winners, then the finalists will be disqualified and the committee will select new winners. Art. 6 : Prizes 3 different prizes will be awarded for the logo, the slogan and the Mascot : Games Logo Design 30,000 VT Games Mascot Design 20,000 VT Best Slogan 10,000 VT Drawings receiving the first prize become: Official Logo, Official Slogan and Official Mascot of the 2017 Vanuatu Pacific Mini Games. Art. 7 : Restriction Entries must not contain any obscene or explicit material, factors that may incite violence or the use of drugs or alcohol, or sales promotions. Entries also must not have images or content that may be considered abusive, derogatory, or disrespectful to the competition, groups, individuals or institutions. Entry submitted by the participant must be the original, and should not be subject to copyright. Art. 8 : Permissions and rights properties By participating in this competition, participants : Agree to have their designs used as Official logo, mascot or slogan for the 2017 Vanuatu Pacific Mini Games. Give right of property to the 2017 Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee. Art. 9 : Calendar of the Competition Tuesday 1st April 2014 : Start of the competition. Wednesday 30th April 2014: End of the competition. Art. 10 : Acceptance of the Rules The fact of participating implies full acceptance of these rules. .

On the same date two presentation packs were issued with two sheets each. One pack has mascot Borobi on the labels and the other one has sports. The sports on the labels were practiced during the Games incl. – for the very first time - beach volleyball.

The Pacific Games Council is very disappointed in the decision taken by the Government of French Polynesia, and especially for the implications this decision has for the Tahitian sports federations and most importantly their athletes, as well as for the hosts in Vanuatu who are working exceptionally hard to stage these 2017 Pacific Mini Games for all the Pacific’s athletes. In the continuing absence of a duly elected Tahiti Nui Pacific Games Association (COPF), following a local court’s decision in August to annul the 2016 elections, the Pacific Games Council will continue with its policy to accept athlete entries for these Games from individual Tahitian sports federations who are duly affiliated with their respective International Federations.
