Aldi Bucket Boss Volunteer Role Profile April 2019 Aldi Bucket Boss Volunteer Role Profile April 2019 About Teenage Cancer Trust: We make sure young people don't face cancer alone. We do it by helping young people and their families deal with the many ways that cancer can affect your body, your mind and your life. We do it in partnership with the NHS and by bringing young people together so they can support each other. And we do it from the moment cancer is diagnosed until long after treatment is over. Right now, for every young person we reach, there’s another we can’t, and our 5 year partnership with Aldi that aims to raise £5 million for our work will really help us to change that. We’re incredibly excited to have been given the opportunity to fundraise in stores across the country. At a glance: Could you spare 3 hours of your weekend to volunteer at an Aldi store during our next Aldi collection weekend on 13 and 14 April? We’re looking for supporters with a ready smile to greet customers and collect crucial donations for Teenage Cancer Trust in the busiest 200 UK stores. Time Commitment: either Saturday 13 or Sunday 14 April, 3 hour shift - either 10am-1pm or 1-4pm Location: An Aldi store near you (please see below for the full list of participating and mark your preference on the registration form) How to apply: Find out more and sign up online. We will then be in touch nearer the event with your shift confirmation and volunteer briefing Point of contact on the day: Aldi Store Manager (in store) & Volunteer Development Manager (phone) What will I do? • Collect cash donations for Teenage Cancer Trust at a store near you • Help raise awareness and engage the public with our work • Be a friendly and approachable face of the charity What will I gain? • Become part of an exciting volunteering community at Teenage Cancer Trust • A red Teenage Cancer Trust volunteer t-shirt • Ultimately help Teenage Cancer Trust to reach more young people with cancer What skills do I need? • Enthusiasm for the work of Teenage Cancer Trust • Confidence and a positive attitude • The ability to engage with the general public • Reliability and punctuality Email [email protected] or call us on 0207 6120370 if you have any other questions on the role. 9-10 Boulevard Ringtail Retail Aberdeen Retail Park AB11 5EJ Burscough Park L40 8AD Airdrie 20 High Street ML6 0DT 46-48 London Alexandria 80 Bank Street G83 0LZ Camberley Road GU17 0AA Alloa Whins Road FK10 3SE Cambridge Histon Road CB4 3JD City Link Retail Alnwick South Road NE66 2PA Cardiff Park CF24 1PQ Altrincham Davenport Road WA14 5DT Cardigan Aberystwyth Road SA43 1NA Ashington Morpeth Road NE63 8QG Carmarthen Stephens Way SA31 2BG 109 Wellington Catford Rushey Green SE6 4JD Ashton Under Lyne Road OL6 7FN 7 Clock Tower RP Ayr 33 Main Street KA8 8BU Chelmsford Westway CM1 3FJ Bamber Bridge Cuerden Way PR5 6BJ Chertsey Gogmore Lane KT16 9AP Barnsley Doncaster Road S70 3PE Chipping Norton Banbury Road OX7 5ET Bathgate 4 Gardner's Lane EH48 1TP Unit 1, Westway Three Lakes Retail Clevedon House, BS21 6XT Bawtry Road, Selby Park YO8 8LY Cockermouth Low Road CA13 0HH Bedfordshire Fairhill, Bedford MK41 7FY Cottingham Summers Drive HU16 5AW Coulby Newham Dalby Way TS8 0TW Bedminster, Bristol North Street BS3 1JA Unit 8 Airport Berwick-upon- Coventry Retail Park CV3 4RP Tweed North Road TD15 1QQ Gallagher Retail 57-69 London Coventry Park CV6 5QG Bexhill-on-Sea Road TN39 3JY Bicester Launton Road OX26 6PZ Cowes, Isle of Wight Airfield Way PO31 8BF Bingley Dubb Lane BD16 2AZ Cudworth Barnsley Road S72 8SU Birmingham Edgbaston Road B5 7QS Cwmbran Woodside Road NP44 3EW Bishop Auckland 149 Watling Road DL14 9AU 5 North Road Unit14Peel Centre Darlington Retail Park DL1 2EE Blackburn Whitebirk BB1 3HT Uttoxeter New UnitA Blackpool Derby Road DE22 3HN Blackpool Retail Park FY4 2RP Unit 7, Meteor Blackwood Gate Derby Retail Park DE21 4SY Blackwood Retail Park NP12 2FS Doncaster Barnsley Road DN5 8QE Bracknell Birch Hill RG12 7DE Dragon Lane, Unit 8 Dragonville Bridgnorth Stourbridge Road WV15 6AL Durham Ret. A U.S offshoot, Teen Cancer America, co-founded by The Who's Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, is offering help. Laura Landro and Teen Cancer America executive director Simon Davies discuss UCLA's program. Photo: Rogers/UCLA. New treatments and earlier detection have led to steady gains in cancer survival for children and adults. But survival rates for teens and young adults with some types of cancer have barely budged in 30 years. A push is on for better care and better outcomes for patients in what the National Cancer Institute calls a "no man's land" between pediatric and adult oncology.

A big thank you goes to Siren Leirvåg for guidance in the literature of theatre studies. Everybody at the Institute of Music at UiO for helping me when I came back after my student hiatus in 2007. I cannot over-exaggerate my gratitude towards Rob Lee, webmaster at www.thewho.com for helping me with finding important information on that site and his attempts at getting me an interview with one of the boys. The tour will open in Bethel, NY on Friday, June 8th at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, where Daltrey and his band will be joined on stage by the acclaimed Hudson Valley Philharmonic, showcasing the beloved classics from the 1969 rock opera, including “Pinball Wizard,” “See Me, Feel Me” and more. THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH Russ: 'Thought For The Month' - 'Head in The Clouds' When I was young, my Dad some=mes used to say to me ''You've got your head in the clouds, Boy,'' - Well, I always thought it was a good place to be..although, I know what he meant, I think he was telling me to ''Come back to, 'NOW'' - I think he was saying, ''Don't waste your life day dreaming, because whatever you're dreaming probably won't happen anyway'' - Then years ago I heard Dan Millman say, ''The best way to live is with your head in the clouds and your feet on the ground'' - That sounds preIy good to me." THIS MONTH.... Russ: "July has been good - [except for the weather] - as usual I've been going in to the studio and amusing myself - Pung down song ideas and because I'm thinking about future 'live' shows, I've been playing a lot of guitar and refreshing my memory of the song arrangements - [of course, I have songs from the new album to learn} Peter and Tom Ross - [From UMU music ] - came over and filmed me for their site.
