In 1998 a class action lawsuit was filed against the City by several Chicago Police Officers who missed time from work due to injuries caused by third-party tortfeasors. Judgment has now been entered against the City. The lawsuit alleged that the City sought reimbursement for wages that it paid

to these officers while they were injured and away from

work by wrongfully asserting wage liens.
