Initially, I came back to town from Chicago for a radio job that I thought would be a launching pad for jobs in bigger markets with more going on. After a short time, I realized life isn’t as much about where you live and work, but way more about who you live and work with. You can do 80-90% of what people do on a daily basis in a much larger suburban area right here in Southeast Iowa, but with less traffic, a lower cost of living and I’d argue, nicer people. We’ve got far more amenities than most towns our size, and we are lucky to have them. Amazing schools, top ranked golf courses, the river, great restaurants, excellent entertainment and plenty to do, no matter what your interests are. When I miss Chicago, I jump on Amtrak or Air Choice One and visit… it’s an easy way to get your city fix, but come home to the easy, affordable and comfortable lifestyle right here. - K.C.
