Pacific Northwest Region C Lincoln & Continental Owners Club June - September, 2016 Volume 30 O N N E C Ready for Hosting An Event? T We need you. We had some holes in our schedule this year and we don’t want that next year. We really need your help. Do you have an interesting event, museum, or other fun activity in your community? Think about hosting an Oevent. If you can’t attend the Planning Meeting, contact Jim Chantler and talk to him about your ideas. R The Connector, another benefit of your membership. Club Officers & Managers Director’s Message Region Director James Shelton Chantler Jim Chantler, Normandy Park WA (2018) Hello Lincolnoids, 206-356-3786 -- [email protected] Another season has completed its run and we are into autumn of 2016. It has certainly been a summer with ups and Assistant Region Director downs. Susan Addy, Silverdale WA (2017) In August it was off to The Dalles for a car show and cruise 360-509-3693 -- [email protected] organized by Bob Weeks. In this issue you will be able to read about this event. As a prelude, let me just say it was HOT. Thanks Secretary to Bob and Elva Weeks for coming up with a great event. It would Kris Sundberg, Mercer Island WA (2018) have been nice if we had greater participation but “them’s da 206-240-1559 breaks,” as they say. Then it was off to Denver for the Western National Meet Treasurer in early September for several of us. Chris Gray and I drove down Sean Streeter, Washougal, WA (2016) to Denver as a tag team again (we also did it last year with several 360-835-3806, [email protected] other PNWR members) and with the luck of the draw there were no unwanted mechanical issues and we made great time. Of course, we Additional Board Members were driving Lincolns after all, hahaha. We arrived in Denver on a • Jim Pringle, Lacey WA (2016) 360-923-0472 -- [email protected] beautiful day and the weather remained great throughout our time • Ed Zarins, Portland, OR (2018) there. You can read Chris’s report of the Western National Meet 503-703-9940 elsewhere in this issue. • Grant Loveseth, Vancouver, BC (2017) As a scheduled event we toured the Clive Cussler Auto 604-264-7946 -- [email protected] Museum outside of Denver. If you don’t know who Clive Cussler • Chris Gray, Snohomish, WA 98296 (2017) is, read the accompanying article later in the Connector. He is a 360-668-9487, [email protected] very successful author of over seventy adventure and explorer • Steve D’Ambrosia, Terrebonne, OR (2016) novels and is a major classic car collector. His collection was 503-449-8756 [email protected] outstanding. His cars are absolutely gorgeous as well as eclectic, from Duesenbergs to Bantams and even a Lincoln or two. It is well Membership worth a trip on its own. Roger Clements, Kent, WA 253-709-6694, [email protected] Unfortunately, I was stung by a bee not once but twice in two days on the same forearm an inch apart. No need for an EpiPen Projects as that’s not one of my areas of health concern. Our fellow member Susan Addy, Silverdale WA (2014) and attendee, Mary Johnson, from Minnesota was also stung. She gave me a Benadryl capsule which I took the evening of the Connector Editor auction. Big mistake, as I lasted 30 minutes and retreated to my Chris Gray, Snohomish WA room to conk out. As an aside, next year there is going to be just one Grand Event Coordinator National Meet rather than the usual three. It will be in early Open August in Hickory Corners, Michigan. This will be a combined meet with Lincoln Owners Club, Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club and Web will be a judged meet. The meet will be held at the Gilmore http://www.lincoln-club.org Museum complex. If you haven’t been to the Gilmore, it is Facebook: Pacific Northwest Lincoln definitely worth the visit to not only see the Lincoln Museum Continental Owners Club but also museums of many other car marques.
