Rivera was involved in several organizations, both on and off campus—Unidad, the Latin dance club, a marketing internship, and working at the study abroad office, to name a few. One of his most influential experiences was his involvement with the Student Alumni Board (SAB) where he had the opportunity to navigate different social circles with different types of people. The alumni networking skills he honed through his involvement with SAB, and his many other campus experiences, helped him land his current job as a Business Development Consultant at Groupon. “I love that I was able to transfer all of my different experiences at Wheaton to my day-to-day life here as I interact with people in such a big company.” Besides proofreading LinkedIn messages to future employers—and telling friends to do the same—Rivera’s advice to students is to “figure out a few takeaways of your experience and be able to not only explain them, but highlight and promote them.” w Organizations employing the class of 2019 4 Riverbridge Investment Management Rockford Christian Schools Allstate Gordon College in Orvieto Royal Business Bank Great Lakes Urban RQ Construction, LLC Sacred Harvest Foundation AmeriCorps Samaritan's Purse Anthropologie GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
