The Cavan Volunteer Information Service was established in 2016 by Cavan Public Participation Network. The service matches volunteers with community groups who are looking for people. Pride of Place Nominations

The All-Island Pride of Place Competition aims to recognise the involvement of the local community in all aspects of rural and urban regeneration, including promoting social cohesion, heritage and environmental Bawnboy Workhouse awareness, across 32 counties.

The 2017 IPB Pride of Place in association with Co-operation Ireland judging got under way in Cavan in August. Pride of Place judges Declan Nelson and Tom Coughlan visited four locations in Cavan for the adjudication process. Each judging visit consisted of a presentation, a ‘question and answer’ session and a walkabout of specific locations of civic pride.
