THOMPSON SIGNS FIRST PRO CONTRACT IN THE NETHERLANDS BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Former WKU Basketball guard Darius Thompson has inked his first professional contract, signing with Zorg en Zekerheid Basketball Leiden in the Netherlands. ZZ Leiden competes in the Dutch Basketball League. The team has won the national championship three times, the NBB Cup twice and the Dutch Basketball Supercup twice. Thompson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Murfreesboro, Tenn., joined the Hilltoppers for the 2017-18 season as a graduate transfer from Virginia. He left his mark on the program in just one year, starting all 38 games, averaging 35.6 minutes per contest and earning a spot on the All-Conference USA Second Team.
