Hassan, will lead his team The Bob Watson Celebrity XI against Surrey legends ‘The Select 11’ to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Onelife UK charities. The event will honour the memory of Metropolitan Police child protection officer, Bob Watson, who recently lost his battle against cancer. The match will take place on Saturday, 21st July at 12pm at Imber Court, Metropolitan Police Sports Club, in Surrey, followed by a dinner dance and auction in the evening. Tamer is not taking this game lightly, using his competitive spirit to select only the fittest celebs with the skills to take on ‘The Select 11’ Surrey local legends. Actor, Hassan said: “I’m carefully choosing only the fittest celebs; each and every one of them has been put through their paces to make sure they are fit to wear the shirt. We promise to bring an entertaining game on the day.” The Hollywood actor’s team includes sporting celebrities Danny Dyer, Calum Best, Chloe Everton, Frankie Cocozza, Kirk Norcross, Andy Ansah, Gavin Ramjaun and more. These stars will be on their best behaviour as they step onto Met Police ground next month. My team of celebrities will do our best to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Onelife UK. I love football and this is a fun way to raise money. Cancer is a dreadful disease and so many people I know have lost someone to cancer. This is me doing my bit for a cause I care passionately about.” The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) infamous Sugar Hut, is the official sponsor for the Bob Watson Foundation event. His most recent film The Double with co-stars Richard Gere and Martin Sheen is coming out this year, directed by Michael Brandt. Hassan also starred in the NCIS LA, appearing in a regular role alongside Mark Harmon. Tamer has now come back to London full time to shoot his new project Player which he has written, and will also be starring in for his directorial debut. To his credit and perhaps detriment at times, Tamer is no self-publicist, but has plenty to shout about Page 2 having acted alongside many more Hollywood stars such as Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Mads Mikkelsen and Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans) Aaron Johnson and Nicholas Cage (Kickass) Vigo Mortensen (Eastern Promises); Bob Hoskins, Morgan Freeman and Jet Lee (Unleashed), Daniel Craig (Layer Cake) and 50cent (Dead Man Running) as well as taking the lead in TVs Hannibal of the Alps about the life of the Carthaginian military commander. Playing to his strengths, Tamer portrays the humorous, loveable rogue well, (The Business, The Football Factory) which will no doubt endear him to a certain type of film fan, but, unlike many of his peers, Tamer introduces good looks and a powerful yet cheeky screen presence to these roles…and it works! Apprenticeship served, its time to take the lead! Away from the big screen, Tamer is a family man through and through and an ambassador of Onelife, a charity that focuses on youth development and mentorship, providing emotional and practical support to vulnerable young people in order to help them realise their potential. He also supports charities such as The Damilola Taylor Trust and Beat Bullying and most recently, the Ben Kinsella – Stamp Out Knife Crime.
