JUNE 19, 2014 Changes to Your Company’s Quote Page on TMXmoney® In the May 8th issue of Exchange Feed, we announced changes to the way you and your investors view your company’s stock quote on TMXmoney. Due to popular demand, here is additional information about the recent change to “Consolidated Quotes.” TMXmoney introduced “Consolidated Quotes” to provide a more comprehensive view of your stock’s trading activity across different marketplaces. In some cases, your company’s securities listed on Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) or TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) may also trade on a number of additional marketplaces other than TSX and TSXV, including TMX Select, Alpha, Chi-X Canada, CX2, Lynx, Omega, Pure and TriAct. The trading volume for all of these equity trading marketplaces is now accessible through the default consolidated quote display, along with last trade amount and the consolidated best bid and asks amounts.* How it works Let’s say an investor wants to get a quote for TD Bank. He or she would simply type the symbol “TD” in the “Get Quote” box found on the top left corner of every page on TMXmoney. Due to recent changes, the investor would now see symbol match results for TD appear in a drop-down list with Canadian Consolidated Quote (CCQ) on the top of the list, followed by symbol matches for other marketplaces. The investor would then select the one he or she wants to view and click “Go”. Typing in a symbol and clicking “Go” without choosing from the drop-down list will automatically take them to the default “Canadian Consolidated Quote” page. Exchange Feed: INSIGHTS from your EXCHANGE tmx.com Transatlantic Connection: Promoting Canadian markets in London Last week, TSX and Montréal Exchange (MX) were in London, U.K., to host the 3rd annual Trade Canada conference. The event was designed to help raise awareness of trading opportunities in the Canadian capital markets, strengthen relationships with international partners and encourage new business opportunities. With the support of our sponsors – ITG, Jitneytrade, Société Générale and TD Bank Group – the half-day event brought together market experts who shared their perspectives on multi-class trading opportunities in Canadian fixed income, equities and derivatives. The event opened up with Avery Shenfeld, Managing Director and Chief Economist at CIBC World Markets Inc., who provided his global and North American economic outlook and the implications for Canadian equities. While in London, TSX also hosted a TSX Investor Day, which showcased TSX-listed companies from a range of sectors. The luncheon event gathered a diverse audience, including asset allocation managers, portfolio managers, buy-side analysts, representatives of sovereign wealth funds and selected financial media, and positioned TSX and TSXV-listed companies as investment opportunities for institutional investors that deploy capital on a global basis. “TMX Group is very committed to the U.K. market and events like these are an important part of our strategy. Exchange Feed: INSIGHTS from your EXCHANGE tmx.com Introducing the S&P/TSX 60 ESG: A Sustainable Version of Canada’s Premier Benchmark Earlier this week, S&P Dow Jones Indices, RobecoSAM and TSX announced the launch of the S&P†/TSX 60 ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) index. The new Index is designed to track the performance of the constituent companies of the S&P/TSX 60, Canada’s leading equity benchmark, while taking into account each company’s sustainability performance relative to the corresponding industry-specific standards. RobecoSAM, the investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing, evaluates companies’ sustainability profiles using their proprietary assessment methodology. The S&P/TSX 60 ESG index is designed for market participants who currently use the S&P/TSX 60 and are looking to deepen the scope of their stock analysis to include sustainability criteria. The construction methodology is based on the S&P/TSX 60, while companies’ sustainability profiles are evaluated using the RobecoSAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Companies are then re-weighted according to their sustainability score, meaning those with a higher score are weighted higher in the S&P/TSX 60 ESG index than in the S&P/TSX 60.
