Ninth Season First Season Third Season 2 ARIZONA BASKETBALL BROADCAST NOTES LOOKING BACK AT 2016-17 PARKER JACKSON-CARTWRIGHT DISTRIBUTION The Arizona Wildcats are coming off a 2016-17 season that saw the team post a record of Parker Jackson-Cartwright led the Pac-12 conference in assist-to-turnover ratio in all games in 32-5 while claiming a share of the regular season Pac-12 championship and win the 2017 2016-17 with a mark of 3.09, which ranked 13th among all NCAA players. His season ratio was Pac-12 Tournament. The 30-win season was just the seventh in program history and the fueled by his 23 assists and four turnovers (5.75 assist-to-turnover) in his six games prior to the fourth under head coach Sean Miller. The Cats’ 16 wins in conference play and 8-1 mark on NCAA Tournament. Jackson-Cartwright matched his career high in assists with 11 in UA’s win over the road in the Pac-12 were both tied for the second-best marks in UA history.     Press Conference Transcript March 28, 2018 Interim President Dr. Greg Postel “Good afternoon; wow, what a crowd. Thank you so much for joining us here this afternoon. We can’t tell you how thrilled we are to have such an amazing crowd for us to tell a truly wonderful story for the next chapter of the University of Louisville. What an outstanding two-week period this has been for UofL and for Cardinal athletics. Let’s think back over just a few successes from the past two weeks. Our men’s swimming and diving team finished ninth in the NCAA Championship, which is their best finish of all-time. During that championship, Marcelo Acosta earned All-America honors, so special accommodation to him. Our women’s swimming and diving team finished fifth in the country. I will note that Mallory Comerford swam the second fastest 200 freestyle in history, as she won her second NCAA championship, so truly an amazing achievement for her. But there’s more, our women’s basketball team has now earned a coveted spot in the Final Four this week in Columbus, Ohio. And just two days ago, with many of you present, I had the distinct honor to introduce our new athletics director, Vincent Tyra, who will lead our program into the future. Vince took the reins of one of America’s best athletic programs. One that is committed to top performance both on and off the court. Through his work as interim athletic director, he has shown that he will continue to push for that level of excellence.

    PRESS RELEASE Arizona Interscholastic Association, Inc. 7007 N. 18th St; Phoenix, AZ 85020 602-385-3810; fax: 602-385-3779 www.aiaonline.org SEAN ELLIOTT INDUCTED TO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL HALL OF FAME FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PHOENIX, AZ (August 12, 2005) – Sean Elliott, a 1985 graduate of Tucson Cholla High School, was inducted to the National High School Hall of Fame on July 2, 2005 in San Antonio. During his senior season, Elliott helped Cholla High School to a 24-3 record by scoring 31.3 points per game and 844 points in the season. Both were Arizona Class 5A single-season records at the time. Elliott was also the 1985 Arizona High School Player of the Year, as well as a McDonald’s, Converse, Adidas and Basketball Times All- American. After his graduation from Cholla High School, Elliott played four years at the University of Arizona (1986-89) under Head Coach, Lute Olson. Elliott helped the Wildcats to four consecutive NCAA playoff berths, and a Final Four appearance in 1988. Elliott is the all-time leading scorer at the University of Arizona after scoring 2,555 points, an average of 19.2 points-per-game. Olson said, “Without question, Sean Elliott is the best and most famous high school basketball player that Tucson has produced.” In the 1989 NBA Draft, Elliott was the third player picked, landing with the San Antonio Spurs. Elliott played 11 years with the Spurs, 12 in the NBA. He is the Spurs’ career leader in three-point field goals made and attempted (563 for 1485).
