Registering a Litter Guidelines for litter registration eligibility A. Any litter resulting from breeding an LGDR registered Sire (male) and Dam (female) that is unrelated on a three generation pedigree is eligible for LGDR registration. No line-bred or in-bred litters will be accepted for registration. B. The litter, Sire and/or Dam are exclusively registered with the LGDR and are not (Dual) registered with any other single breed Blue Lacy Registry. LGDR DOES NO ALLOW OR RECOGNIZE REGISTRATION WITH ANY OTHER SINGLE BREED BLUE LACY REGISTRY. LGDR recognizes National Kennel Club (NKC) as a secondary multi-breed registry for Stud files. The one other exception that will be considered is a registry/breed club that holds competition points, titles, and/or certificates of achievement, but do not link these records to breeding and Stud file records for registration on the Blue Lacy breed. Call or email the LGDR for approval or questions, if applicable. C. Both Sire and Dam must have LGDR Breeding Prospect Inspection Forms with pictures and LGDR Breeder Ethic Code Forms on file, before the litter can be assigned registration puppy certificates. D. Only pups that meet breeding prospect standards in the litter will be issued assigned numbers as breeding prospects. Pups that do not meet breeding prospect standards within the litter will be issued “Puppy Certificates” to show purity, but will not be assigned numbers for breeding prospect purposes. Proof of spay/neuter will be required from the new owner before issuing three-generation pedigrees on non-breeding quality pups. Pups that do not meet breeding prospect standards would include: a. Pups with white markings in areas other than on their chest, throat and feet regions. Pups with long, wooly, or sparse coats do not meet breeding standards and this fault must be identified on the litter registration form. Coats should be sleek, smooth and tight fitting with very little or no flagging on the legs. b. Pups that have over shot, under shot or wry bites are not breedable. If a bad bite is identified by the breeder after the litter application has been submitted, the breeder must notify LGDR, so proper paperwork can be corrected. If the bad bite is identified after leaving the breeders property, that dog does not meet breeding standard and the bite will be noted on the LGDR Breeding Prospect Inspection Form upon Veterinarian inspection before breeding. c. Pups with physical or mental defects do not meet breeding standards. d. Breeder can also choose to list any pup on the litter application form as not meeting their personal breeding standard. This is above and beyond requirements identified in the LGDR guideline.. To register a litter, the litter owner must complete a LGDR Litter Registration Application. A current LGDR Breeder Ethic Code and an LGDR Breeding Prospect Inspection Forms on both Sire and Dam must be on file with the LGDR. All Forms can be printed from the registry's website (bluelacydogs.org). The litter application requires date of birth, number of males and females born, and the registered names and numbers of the Sire and Dam. The application must be signed by all of the owners and co-owners of the dam and by one owner of the sire. Failure to complete the application properly will result in processing delays. Processing fees are nonrefundable, and all fees are subject to change without notice. When completed, the application should be submitted to the LGDR with the proper fee and pictures. Applications must be mailed. You can send pictures by email online at [email protected]. The LGDR will mail the litter owner Puppy Certificates for each pup submitted for registration, which meet breeding standards. The litter owner should examine the Puppy Certificates thoroughly for errors before issuing the papers to puppy buyers. If litter guideline violations are found after litter registrations are submitted and processed, the Puppy Certificate will become knoll and void and the LGDR will not issue three generation pedigrees on such pups. It is the breeders’ responsibility to make sure all guidelines are met before submitting litter applications. Each person or firm who owns, breeds, or sells dogs that are LGDR-registered must keep accurate, up-to-date records of all transactions involving these dogs. There must be no doubt as to the identity of any individual dog or as to the parentage of a particular dog or litter. Failure to uphold proper record-keeping procedures or breeding ethics could lead to penalties, including the suspension of LGDR privileges and the breeders ability to register their dogs with the LGDR. .
