Visit us at nwtc.edu/LIR Learning in Retirement 9 Dear Friend of Door County Learning in Retirement,

We are pleased to present the Fall 2021 catalog and opportunity once again to participate in Learning in Retirement. We are grateful that we were able to adapt and sustain so that we could continue to provide classes during the pandemic. We are grateful for the positive feedback from members who participated. Thank you for making LIR available via Zoom. It’s been a welcomed companion during the pandemic. Hats off to the Learning in Retirement staff for doing these classes virtually. Enjoyed it! Even though we weren’t in a room together, it is really good for our mental health to ‘get together’ with our fellow LIR members. Keep up the good work DCLIR. Still not as nice as in-person classes, but the best we have under the circumstances. Great job by all involved with making the best of things. Thank you.

Like you, we have looked forward to meeting in person. Looking forward to when we can resume to a classroom setting. In the meantime I am so thankful for ZOOM. Sure do hope we can get back into the classroom soon. They are good, but I can’t wait until we can be together again. Thanks.

The fall term will offer three ways to gather for classes: In-person classes return. We will follow guidance from NWTC and our other class venues regarding class size, social distancing, and masking. We look forward to seeing our classroom bustling with activity again.

Zoom classes continue. Some classes will be offered on Zoom this fall. Participants will be able to participate in classes anywhere there is an internet connection.

In-person and Zoom (Blended) classes will be offered for the first time. This gives members the choice of attending a class in person or participating online via Zoom.

We sincerely hope that you will continue to support DCLIR by pursuing in-person, blended, and online lifelong learning.

Sincerely,

Mary Koski, Fran Uteg, Curriculum Co-Chairs Door County Learning in Retirement

Members may register for open classes at any time. Please contact the DCLIR Office for details.

DCLIR’s office and classroom number is SC111. Facing the main entrance, we are at the far left (South) of the building. Our entrance is located off the South parking lot, which has a turnaround for drop-offs, as well as handicapped spaces. Additional handicapped spaces and parking are located in the Front lot.

WHEELCHAIRS ARE AVAILABLE. Call the DCLIR office at 920-746-4947 and we’ll meet you at the DCLIR entrance door.

KEEP YOUR CATALOG and confirmation letter or email for future reference! Find course listings, coordinator contact information, times, dates, location, and fees. You will also find the catalog, updates and/or changes to the schedule on our website at nwtc.edu/LIR.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR EMAIL? Technology – can’t live with it, can’t live without it! Our main communication with our members is via e-mail. We send out E-News with announcements, class changes or cancellations, special meetings and notices. These often happen too quickly to inform members by U.S. mail. Please make an effort to check your email on a regular basis and let us know if your email address has changed. Thanks!

PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE! If you are unable to attend a confirmed course for any reason, please contact the course coordinator as listed in the catalog.
