  • How I Got the Job at Adidas Combat Gear When I Initially Heard About Adidas Combat Sports USA, It Was Through My Friend Jeff
How I Got The Job at Adidas Combat Gear When I initially heard about adidas Combat Sports USA, it was through my friend Jeff Chu, a local photographer and videographer. He had taken on a job as part of his freelance career and since I had recently been laid off from a magazine I was working for, decided to tag along. "It's all about the networking in this business," Jeff said. And it is. Because I tagged along, I met ACS President Scott Viscomi and five months later had a job as a blog editor of this website. Before Scott had taken on the task of creating some of the best gear in the combat sports industry, the adidas logo had entered the realm of jiu-jitsu competition when I was only a white belt years ago. Or at least that's the first time I had seen it. The gis that were created then were more cut for a judo competitor, with short sleeves and stiff material. It wasn't pliable, equipt to move along with a jiu-jitsu athlete while playing spider guard or butterfly guard, or passing guard and taking the back. Somewhere along the line, before I ever saw an adidas gi again, the design changed. It was in new hands. As I walked into Church Street Boxing in Lower Manhattan, it was a lot different from the jiu-jitsu academies I'd trained in for six years. In the middle of the main room was a raised boxing ring and all around it were walls covered in mirrors and old photographs and fight posters.

WBO Jr. Welterweight champion Chris Algieri Chosen to be Grand Marshal at 5th Annual Huntington Awareness Day Parade W o r l d c h a m p i o n b o x er Chris Algieri and longtime community leaders Anthony Mastrioanni and Thomas Jerideau will be honored as grand marshals when the Fifth Annual Huntington Awareness Day parade kicks off on Saturday, September 6. First held in 2010, Huntington Awareness Day has become an annual tradition, with thousands of people turning out to celebrate the community’s unity, diversity and solidarity. As in previous years, bands, floats, vintage cars, service groups and local merchants will join the march down New York Avenue through Huntington Station from West Hills Road to the pedestrian plaza at Olive Street. Following a brief ceremony, everyone will cross New York Avenue to the fair in the municipal parking lot between Railroad and Church Streets. The fair will include performances by local artists and booths offering crafts and services. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and the fair will remain open until 5 p.m. This year’s honorees span different generations and areas of expertise. Algieri, 30, grew up in Huntington and graduated from St. Anthony’s High School, where he captained the varsity wrestling team and later served as an assistant coach. He graduated from Stony Brook University, with honors, with a degree in health care management and later earned a master’s degree from the New York Institute of Technology. A kickboxer in college, Algieri won the International Sport Karate Association’s Welterweight and World Kickboxing Association Super Welterweight Championships before retiring as a kickboxer to take up prizefighting.

The Complainants and interested parties are: Boxer Hughie Lewis Fury Address Hollybank Park, Warburton Bridge Road, Rixton, Warrington WA3 6HC Domicile England Nationality British Telephone Number 07788 874 788 Email Address [email protected] Mailing Address As above Hennessy Sports Worldwide Ltd, 150 High Street, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 1XE England Tel: + 44 (0) 203 146 6000 Office Email: [email protected] www.hennessysports.com Promoter Mick Hennessy of Hennessy Sports Worldwide Limited Address 150 High Street, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1XE Domicile England Nationality British Telephone Number 0203 146 6050 Email Address [email protected] Mailing Address As above The Complainants and interested parties as referred to above are the challenger and promoter of the WBO World Heavyweight Championship bout that took place at the Manchester Arena on Saturday 23 September 2017. You may consider that Joseph Parker and Duco Promotions Limited are also interested parties. The Complainants consider that the scoring of two of the judges of the bout, John Madfis and Terry O’Connor, do not properly or correctly reflect the contest that took place during the above mentioned bout. Both judges scored the contest in favour of Joseph Parker by 118 to 110 points as compared to the other judge, Rocky Young, who scored the bout as a draw at 114 each (which we still consider to be extremely generous towards Joseph Parker).

! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Surname Index to Volumes 1-20 The Colorado Genealogist ©2009 Colorado Genealogical Society Surname Index for Volumes 1-20 Introduction ! This index was scanned and OCR technology used on the original indexes published by the Colorado Genealogical Society. Every attempt has been made to obtain an accurate “reading” of the information. There may still be errors in the transfer. All of the original indexes used the spellings that appeared in the original quarterly publications, some of which may have contained spelling or typographical errors. A prudent searcher will try various spellings of the surnames being searched. ! The index for volumes 1-20 put one surname at the beginning of the listing of alphabetical first names. In transferring this index to searchable pdf, some additional surnames were added for names covering more than 1 column or page. ! Searching Hints •This is a searchable pdf document and uses the same searching tools you would find in your pdf reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. ! •Begin by typing in a surname only. You may have to search on a page for the given name, like you would in a printed index. Where there was more than a column of a surname, some additional surnames were added in. ! •If there are too many “hits” from surname only, then type surname, first name. !That is how it will appear in the index if there are too many of a single surname. •If the surname has a prefix such as “de,” “le” or “van” try entering both with and ! without spaces between names. There are entries in either style.! ©2009 Colorado Genealogical Society Surname Index for Volumes 1-20 of The Colorado Genealogist ABBEY, A.
