Inquiry Into 5G in Australia 13 September 2019 Wednesday 30Th Inquiry into 5G in Australia 13 September 2019 Wednesday 30th October 2019 My name is GEORGE PARKER; I am an 82 year-old, ex-military veteran, communication officer and served in the Royal Australian Corps of Signals (1959- 80), and I suffer extremely from “electromagnetic radiation (EMR)” exposure from the wireless and electrical technology of the 21st Century. During my service in the military I was exposed to high levels of EMR from military communications equipment (electronic, wireless and electrical) over long-term and prolonged periods of time. The EMR exposure was made up from “microwave non- ionised radiation (MWNIR)” of the “radio frequency radiation “bands; and “electric- magnetic fields (EFs/MFs) of the “extremely low frequency (ELF) bands of the “electromagnetic frequency spectrum”. The EMR exposure had a bearing on my health during my military service and since 1980 and over time it materialised into significant physical health problems suffering ME, CFS, FMS; and now chronically and severely debilitated with peripheral neuropathy and distal myopathy and neurasthenic symptoms. My illness during my military service wasn’t known by the military medical system due to the undisclosed medical research (1930s-80s) that was known by other military individuals. The EMR exposure caused illnesses that were known as radarman’s illness (1930s), radioman’s illness (1940s), radiowave illness, microwave illness and electrical (EMF) illness (1950s-80s). Today, these illnesses are coined “electro sensitivity (ES)” and “electrohyper sensitivity (EHS)” Many medical research documents have stated that the egregious character of MWNIR and EFs/MFs has bearing on human health, and materialising into significant health problems. One such document: “US Defence Intelligence Agency – Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation (Radiowave and Microwaves) (DST- 1810S-07-76 March 1976)” stated: “Military personnel exposed to microwave radiation below thermal levels experience more neurological, cardiovascular and haemodynamic disturbances than do their unexposed counterparts---effects attributed to exposure include bradycardia, hypotension, and changes in EKG indices--- subjects exposed to microwave exhibited a variety of neurasthenic disorders against a background of angiodystonia (abnormal changes in tonicity of blood vessels). The most common subjective complaints were headaches, fatigue, perspiring, dizziness, menstrual disorders, irritability, agitation, tension, drowsiness, sleeplessness, depression, anxiety, forgetfulness and lack of concentration Another noted document of the dangers of MWNIR is “Naval Medical Research Institute (NMRI) – Bibliography of reported Biological Phenomena (effects) and Clinical Manifestations Attributed to Microwave and Radio-Frequency Radiation (20th April 1972).” Since the introduction of wireless and electrical technology in the late 1990s the illnesses described above exploded within the public as MWNIR exposure began to increase from each introduction of UNTESTED 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G and 4GX technology from towers, devices, appliances, tools and equipments. Many of the known illnesses, disorders and diseases of the past have increased at least 300-fold since the introduction of untested wireless and electrical technology from the 1990s. The inquiry into 5G technology need to consider that insurance companies will not insure any telecommunication company, because they know how dangerous EMR exposure is to human health and that ELF and RFR emissions are classified as “2B Carcinogenic” (2006 and 2011 respectively). Also, if TPG says community health fears stopped its 5G rollout in Australia and that was reported in the “The Business Insider” By Jack Derwin, 18th September 2019 at 1:52 PM, when TPG CEO (Craig Levy) had told the Federal Court that the Telco pulled its plans out, to roll out a 5G network in Australia, due to community fears regarding the health impact of the technology. Also, nobody seems to be aware of the affect that MWINIR is having on the animal, insect, bird, and botanical life in the high levels of EMR exposure from multiple towers, particularly on the Gold Coast. In my area, the deterioration and destruction of the animal life; insects; bees; birds; butterflies; dragonflies; reptilian and including toads have disappeared over the past decade due to the increase of towers and high levels of MWNIR and the increase of users within the public, work, school, shopping, hospital and medical place, who are exposing their neighbours against their will to a certain risk, which by law, constitutes itself as a public nuisance (Tort of Nuisance). Therefore, are these wireless and electrical towers, devices, appliances, tools and equipments assaulting us, battering us, abusing us and bullying us---against our will? This is an old Qld law on assaulting and applying force” In 2002 DR Neil Cherry expressed his concerns in his research: Evidence that EMF EMR causes Leukaemia Lymphoma in adults and children http://researcharchive.lincoln.ac.nz/handle/10182/4005 12th September 2002 Cherry, Neil J. Abstract Both local ELF fields and far-fields of RF/MW radiation expose the whole human body and induce electric currents that flow through the body seeking “earth”. The electric current induces the formation of magnetic fields, creating the combined electromagnetic field. The induced electric currents primarily flow through the strong conduction high water organs, circulation system and bone marrow. They also flow through the electrical conduction fibres of the Central Nervous System. The oscillating electromagnetic signals damage the DNA in the exposed cells the current is flowing through, generating cell death and mutations that primarily lead to Leukaemia and Lymphoma. This explains why Leukaemia rates in Children and Adults have progressively risen over the 20th Century as more and more homes were provided with electric power. This produced living environments involving chronic low-level ELF field exposures in homes, along streets and in all building environments with electric power supplies. The unique ubiquitous exposure situation produced by this development provides a sole and confirmed source of the vast majority of the elevated cancer rates, including most of the Leukaemia/Lymphoma rates. Since both residences and work places involve chronic EM field exposures, the epidemiological studies of both are appropriately considered and the issue of no non-exposed control group needs to be dealt with. Appropriate exposure assessment is vital for determining dose-response relationships. The results of over 40 residential studies and 100 occupational studies give strong, extensive and robust evidence that ELF and RF/MW (EMR) radiation is proven to cause Leukaemia and Lymphoma in children and adults, including over 40 dose- response relationships. Therefore, 5G is replacing 4G with a declaration of increased speed, coverage, and reliability; and the Telecos claim that their primary focus and reason is to support the growing number of devices that demand Internet access and requires much more bandwidth to function. But, they are not telling the public that it’s NOT TESTED and ignores all scientific medical research and the detrimental health effects on human and environmental life. 5G will use antennas in the “super high frequency (SHF)” and “extremely high frequency (EHF)” bands and deliver ultrafast speeds. The fundamental difference between 3G and 4G is that, 5G will probably use 3.6GHz or 20GHz at higher levels of power output and expose ALL LIFE with high levels of MWNIR. The electromagnetic spectrum for phone towers is spread over the “ultra high frequency (UHF)” (300MHz-3GHz), SHF (3-30GHz) and EHF (30-300GHz) bands. Most 4G networks use frequencies 900MHz to 6 GHz, and 5G will probably use 3.6GHz and 30-300 GHz. The EHF band can support huge capacity for fast data; less cluttered and can be used as the bandwidth with increase demands. The EHFs are directional and technically can be used next to other frequencies without causing “electromagnetic interference (EMI)”, and telecos us their reason for their untested 5G technology. The telecos go on to say that 4G towers radiate in a 360 degree, which wastes energy and power to beam a signal. But, they are prepared to destroy human and environmental life for profits. The 5G technology using EHF band will emit shorter wavelengths, which means that antennas will be millimetre size and provide precise directional control. One base station can utilize more directional antennas, which makes 5G profitable and will support over 1,000 more devices per metre than what 4G can provide. This is where the health concerns are highlighted and becomes frightening, as the telecos only promote 5G as being ultrafast, with high precision and little latency. But, they ignore the dangerous increase of MWNIR exposure, and that 5G will be worse than 3G, 4G, and 4GX, which already has a bearing on human and environmental health and life. When 5G uses EHFs it needs a clear area for direct line-of-sight between the antenna and the device receiving the signal for it to work; and at the same time these frequencies can be absorbed by: buildings; trees; rain; snow; moisture and any other objects, meaning that the signal will not travel a long distance. Therefore, this is where the next level of health concern arises. The telecos give reasons that lots of strategically placed antennas to support 5G, such as, many repeating stations to push 5G as far as possible to provide the long range, but the telecos throw caution to the wind and refuse to conduct serious tests to avoid the health effects that will be caused on the ground; surrounding building; homes; and schools. The only profitable difference between 4G and 5G---5G will work on low power, when not in use--- but when demand increases it will switch to high power, such as, HD video streaming and peak periods. 5G is 20 times faster than 4G, which means that during download 5G is 20 times faster (10 movies) to one movie on 4G! 5G has 20 Gbps, while 4G is 1 Gbps. 4G may reach 10 Mbps, which makes 5G at least 10 times faster than 4G.

As a result of these research and development programs, a wealth of information has been made available to the mining industry. Unfortunately, some of this material is highly analytical, and most is written in terms best understood by communication specialists. Because of the volume of data (over 100 studies have been performed) and its highly technical nature, most of the information is not readily avail- able for practical application by mine operators. This manual brings together relevant data from all previous reports, studies, and other sources, and presents these data in such a way that they may be applied by the mining industry to improve communications in underground mines. This report is intended as a guideline and not as a comprehensive documentary of mine equipment.
