(July 18, 2020) – Michelin celebrated the rollout of the new MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport All Season 4 tire and the next step in IMSA’s continued return to racing as Michelin delivered performance for a wide range of cars at the storied Sebring International Raceway. “This weekend marked a big step forward in IMSA’s return to racing as we had both the Michelin Pilot Challenge and IMSA Prototype Challenge races in addition to the WeatherTech Championship which made for a robust race weekend. Through the two days we had a wide range of conditions to prove our capabilities,” said Tony Ménard, director of motorsport, Michelin North America. Cadillac, Chevrolet Corvette, and Lexus claimed the respective class wins in the two-hour, 40 minute Cadillac Grand Prix of Sebring while Porsche, Ferrari and BMW all claimed podiums. “Having the teams in all the series perform so well is very satisfying. We are excited to start seeing some fans at races and have the opportunity to show the IMSA manufacturers, teams, promoters, fans and our dealers how our on-track technologies are carried into our Michelin Pilot family of tires. It is important for us to be able to connect with all those audiences, while respecting the health and safety protocols in place that allow us to resume the season,” said Ménard. Renger van der Zande, who with co-driver Jordan Taylor is looking to score the team’s fifth Detroit victory in the last six years this weekend, clocked a fast lap of 1 minute, 22.273 seconds at 102.828 mph during a slightly shortened qualifying session around the 2.36- mile, 13-turn temporary street circuit due to a red-flag stoppage. It was good for seventh among the 26 car-and-driver combinations that will take the green flag for Saturday’s one-hour, 40 minute sprint race. “It’s been a rough day – we’ve been chasing the setup a little bit over the bumps here but, for qualifying we made a very good step forward,” said van der Zande, the Dutch driving veteran who scored back-to-back LMPC-class wins here with the Starworks Motorsport team in 2015 and 2016.

(December 28th, 2018) JDC-Miller MotorSports confirmed today that 23-year-old California native Gustavo Menezes will join the team for the 2018 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in the No. 99 Red Dragon JDC-Miller MotorSports GAINSCO insurance entry. Menezes is considered one of the brightest American talents in International Motorsport and won the 2016 LMP2 FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the 2016 24 Hours of the LeMans in the LMP2 category as an Alpine LMP2 manufacture driver. Menezes was recently announced as one of the drivers for Rebellion Racing’s 2018 LMP1 program. In 2017 Gustavo scored 3 wins and 8 podium finishes to follow up his 2016 World Championship winning campaign in which he earned 4 wins and 7 podium finishes. “Gustavo was the driver we wanted to complete the # 99 driver line-up for Daytona and we super excited that he will come and race with us at Daytona,” commented JDC-Miller MotorSports team Principal John Church. “We first got to know Gustavo when he was competing in the US in the Mazda Road to Indy and have followed his career since he moved to Europe.     newsroom null Aug 24, 2014 Earl Bamber moves into overall lead Earl Bamber celebrated his second win of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. In Spa, the Porsche Scholarship pilot moved to the top of the overall points’ standings. When the field set off into the eleven-lap race on the 6.973 kilometre circuit, Bamber immediately pulled to the front of the field in his 460 hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup which is based on the seventh generation of the 911. But after several hundred metres, the New Zealand slid sideways in the legendary Eau Rouge passage, opening the door for Thiim to sneak past. After his scare, the 24-year-old, who contested his 50th race in a Porsche at Spa, caught the Dane and launched a hefty attack to regain the lead spot. Once Bamber finally managed to squeeze past Thiim in lap six, the path was clear to clinch his second win of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. “Our fight was tough but very fair,” said Thiim (second place) summing up events. “Earl’s a great racer,” he admitted. Third place went to Porsche junior Klaus Bachler (A/Konrad Motorsport). “Fastest in free practice, pole position, victory and now the points’ leader – what a perfect weekend. I’m over the moon,” exclaimed a beaming Bamber.
