For Immediate Release Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R Qualifying Report Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Belle Isle Date: June 1, 2018 Event: Chevrolet Sports Car Classic (Round 5 of 10) Series: Prototype division of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Location: The Streets of Belle Isle in Detroit (2.36-mile, 13-turn temporary street circuit) Result: 7th by Renger van der Zande (1:23.558 at 101.246 mph) Pole Winner: Pipo Derani of Tequila Patron ESM (1:22.273 at 102.828 mph) The No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R will start Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic from the inside of the fourth row after IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship qualifying Friday evening on the Streets of Belle Isle in downtown Detroit. Renger van der Zande, who with co-driver Jordan Taylor is looking to score the team’s fifth Detroit victory in the last six years this weekend, clocked a fast lap of 1 minute, 22.273 seconds at 102.828 mph during a slightly shortened qualifying session around the 2.36- mile, 13-turn temporary street circuit due to a red-flag stoppage. It was good for seventh among the 26 car-and-driver combinations that will take the green flag for Saturday’s one-hour, 40 minute sprint race. “It’s been a rough day – we’ve been chasing the setup a little bit over the bumps here but, for qualifying we made a very good step forward,” said van der Zande, the Dutch driving veteran who scored back-to-back LMPC-class wins here with the Starworks Motorsport team in 2015 and 2016. “The only issue was the red flag, which made it all come down to a two-lap shootout at the end, which was really cool in one way but, at the same time, it would have been good to get the whole session in. I gave it my all and got a pretty good lap. It was nowhere near the pole but at least we’re a little bit ahead of where we were in practice. Then, into turn 11, I was fully sideways and almost spun off on an even quicker lap, but those are the risks you have to take, sometimes. I went over a bump, got a little wide, kept the throttle down to see if we could make it, but I had to lift, anyway, and lost a few tenths there. Altogether, it wasn’t the greatest, but in the race, anything can happen, for sure. We should be able to make another few steps forward because we’ve at least found the right direction.” The top-five qualifiers for Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Belle Isle are: 1. Tequila Patron ESM (No. 22 Nissan DPi) Pipo Derani and Johannes von Overbeek (1:22.273 at 102.828 mph) 2. Acura Team Penske (No. 6 Acura DPi), Juan Pablo Montoya and Dane Cameron (1:22.992 at 101.937 mph) 3. Acura Team Penske (No. 7 Acura DPi), Helio Castroneves and Ricky Taylor (1:23.275 at 101.590 mph) 4. Action Express Racing (No. 5 Cadillac DPi-V.R), Joao Barbosa and Felipe Albuquerque (1:23.278 at 101.587 mph) 5.     CORVETTE DPs AT ROAD ATLANTA: Cameron, Curran Claim Prototype Driver’s Title Wayne Taylor Racing places third at Petit Le Mans in final race for Corvette DP BRASELTON, Ga. (Oct. 1, 2016) – Action Express Racing’s Dane Cameron and Eric Curran claimed a closely fought Prototype Driver’s Championship on Saturday, and Wayne Taylor Racing’s No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette Daytona Prototype placed third in the 10-hour Petit Le Mans presented by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort to close the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. Cameron and Curran, drivers of the No. 31 Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette DP, won their first title together in their second season as teammates. They won twice this year and recorded four podium finishes in five races to close the season. “Congratulations to Dane Cameron and Eric Curran on winning their first Prototype Driver’s Championship today at Road Atlanta,” said Mark Kent, Chevrolet Director of Motorsports Competition. “Their performance and that of the No. 31 Action Express Racing Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette DP at Petit Le Mans and throughout the season makes them worthy champions. We congratulate and thank them, and all our Corvette DP teams on a successful season.” Jordan Taylor, Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli finished on the podium in the final race for the Corvette Daytona Prototype with new Prototype class regulations coming into effect in 2017. Since its beginnings in 2012, the Corvette DP won 36 times and recorded 100 podium finishes in 56 races. Corvette Daytona Prototype drivers captured the top three positions in the unofficial Driver’s Championship standings.

Trummer brings a wealth of experience to JDC. Having most recently campaigned an ORECA 07 in the 2017 World Endurance Championship, his background also includes 18 starts in LMP1 and three starts at the 24 Hours of LeMans. Prior to making the transition to sports cars, he competed in various open-wheel categories; earning podium finishes in GP2 and International Formula Masters, among others. He recently joined JDC-Miller for a test at Sebring International Raceway, before finishing out the FIA World Endurance Championship with the final round in Bahrain. “Simon is a great addition to our program.     Fastest Race Lap and Another Top Ten for Goikhberg and Simpson Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship No. 99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance®/JDC-Miller MotorSports/ORECA/Gibson May 7, 2018 The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship returned to the rolling hills of central Ohio for the first time in five years last weekend, when they raced at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course outside of Columbus. It was a good weekend for the No.99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance®/ORECA, as they earned their third 7th place finish of the season at Mid-Ohio. The weekend kicked off with scattered thunderstorms and near flooding conditions in various parts of the track. The conditions eventually shortened Friday practice substantially when the IMSA Stewards decided to throw the red flag as stream of water flowed over the track and the pit lane turned into a near river. Fortunately for the JDC-Miller MotorSports crew, they completed a two-day test at Mid-Ohio immediately after Long Beach last month. Mother Nature wasn’t any more cooperative then, as it snowed during the test, but they did end up logging 150 miles which proved to be very helpful during the rain shortened weekend. Conditions improved on Saturday, and Misha Goikhberg qualified the Red Dragon™, earning the team’s best qualifying result of the season. Goikhberg was on pace immediately and steadily set times good enough for the top five throughout the session. Although Goikhberg was eventually bumped to the 8th starting position, it was a solid result. Thunderstorms were predicted again on Sunday, but it turned out to be the best weather over the course of the weekend.
