Lake Shannon 464 A combination of natural and paved 134 surfaces, this trail winds its way past Cooper Rd. Dewey Lake Rd. Dollar Lake and through a 11 miles 5 of wilderness between Chisholm Rock Lake Lake and the intersection of Connors Rd George and Hwy 5.Lake Rd. Long Open to ATVs from May 466 River Rd. Krogerus 15th through March 1st. Elk Hobson Lake Lake Since Chisholm allows ATVs on 84 city streets, riders can travel from Day Lake Rd. Latick Rd. home or hotel to this trail without trailering their ATV. The trail begins on Cemetery Road north of Chisholm. 73 Bach Rd. H Virginia Heritage Museum THISTLEDEW TRAIL H Hwy 5685 Bar & Grill (along the trail) Itasca County The 25-mile Thistledew ATV Trail system runs on portions 5 H Iron Trail Campground (along of the Thistledew ski and the Circle T snowmobile the trail) 1152 trails. The scenery varies from stands of large Norway pine to aspen regeneration areas in parts of the George 73 Washington State Forest. The south loop is managed for both horseback riding and ATV use. North ALBORN-PENGILLY TRAIL St. Louis & Itasca Counties The 39-mile Alborn-Pengilly Railroad ATV Trail follows an abandoned railroad grade between Trails the cities of Alborn and Pengilly. The trail has been developed and maintained by the Range Forest Roads Riders ATV Club. Northern access: Pengilly off Hwy 169, 1/2 mile Parking on Hwy 65, access on right. Southern access: in Alborn off Hwy 7. Shelter Camping Sites Picnic Area Horse Camping Intersection # Local Trails Trail Nearby RANGER SNOWMOBILE & ATV TRAIL Giants Ridge® (FORMERLY AURORA TRAIL) St. Louis County Covering roughly 25 miles between Biwabik and Hoyt Lakes, including a trail spur to Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort, riders will pass two natural ore mine pits, now Lake Mine and Lake Wynne Lake St James. The Giants Ridge Spur runs along Wynne and Sabin Lake. East of Aurora, the trail passes through a former Civilian Conservation Corps camp. A direct trail connection between Eveleth and Gilbert through the old Genoa mining location, riders can also connect the Iron Range Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Area via the Gilbert Trail. That trail begins just east of the intersection of Hwys 53 and 37 near Eveleth, and ends at the Sherwood Forest Campground in Gilbert. From there, another trail connects to the OHV Recreation Area.
