Introduction 1.1 Welsh Government is offering pupils in years 7 to 13 the opportunity to undergo twice-weekly testing using a LFT device. 1.2 While this testing is on a voluntary basis, all pupils offered the opportunity are strongly encouraged to take up the offer to further reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. 1.3 The test is a fast and simple way to test individuals who do not have symptoms of COVID-19, but who may still be spreading the virus. 2. Pupils included 2.1 All pupils in years 7 to 13 are offered the opportunity to have twice-weekly testing. 2.2 If you do not wish to participate in the testing, you are still able to attend your school or setting providing you have not come into contact with a positive case, developed symptoms or received a positive COVID-19 test result that you may have had independently. 2.3 Always follow the usual national guidelines on self-isolation and arrange a test if you show symptoms of COVID-19. 3.
