Job Title: Master Control Operator - Full time and Part time Department: Engineering Reports to: Operations Manager

SUMMARY The Master Control Operator airs programming, records satellite feeds, digitizes commercial and promotional spots, and ensures that WIFS is providing the highest quality broadcast possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Keeping our signal on-air • Recording commercials and dubbing tapes onto a digital server • Monitor station signal throughout entire shift • Check and record various transmitter readings • Keep detailed account of air times in daily traffic logs • Recording shows from satellite feeds and electronic transfer services • Timing out shows and entering into Wide Orbit server

ADDITIONAL DUTIES BY DEPARTMENT • Engineering: Assist with daily maintenance of Master Control equipment, computers and software. • Traffic/Promotions: Thoroughly check for errors in the daily traffic log and report them to respective departments.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience as a Master Control Operator is helpful, but on the job training is provided. The job can move from a very fast pace to long periods of idle time, so the candidate must be able to stay alert and handle pressure well.

Knowledge of tape systems (Beta, DVC Pro, etc), is helpful but training can be arranged. Other skills relating to the broadcast industry, such as video production or editing, are a plus and familiarity with computers.

The ideal candidate will be very enthusiastic, flexible, and professional.
