Let’s spell my name, together! B-L-I-P-P-I! Blippi! Did I fool you before? Boy, was that a fun way to surprise you! I’m just so super excited to be here with you! How’s everyone feeling today? AUDIENCE responds. BLIPPI Are you all ready to play along with me and have a good time? AUDIENCE responds BLIPPI Oh, good! Well, I want everyone to meet my pals- these are the Blippi Buddies! They’re gonna be dancing and singing and playing along with us today! Everyone say “Hi, Blippi Buddies!” BLIPPI BUDDIES Hello there! Nice to meet you! Hi! Etc... BLIPPI You know, one thing the Blippi Buddies are really good at is dancing! Dancing is a really good way to get your body going! Would all of you like to dance along with us? AUDIENCE responds. BLIPPI Great! Ok, everybody stand up out of your seats! We’re gonna teach you a cool new dance that has a pretty cool name- it’s called...the Blippi! Here’s how it goes: you take your arm and you move it like this... Blippi and the Buddies demonstrate and encourage the audience as they follow along. BLIPPI Good job! Now, you jump on your leg, just like this! It can be kinda tough but you’ll get it! BLIPPI And now, you wiggle and make a silly sound, just like this! Blippi and the Buddies wiggle in an over-the-top silly way and make SILLY SOUNDS. BLIPPI Oh, wow! That was a really silly sound for sure! Now, we put them all together- wiggle your arm, jump on one leg, and wiggle and make a silly sound! All together! BLIPPI That’s great! Wow! You’re really good at this! Guess what? We just invented a dance, together! Let’s call it- “The Blippi!” Let’s do “The Blippi” all together! Are you ready? Then here...we...go! BLIPPI LIVE BLIPPI SIDES #2 BLIPPI Do you like loud sounds? You do? That’s so cool! You know what else makes a loud sound? A Monster Truck! Yeah! Do you know what a Monster Truck is? AUDIENCE RESPONDS. BLIPPI You do?! Aren’t they the coolest!? Have you ever seen one before? They are enormous! They are gigantic! Oooh! I can’t wait to show you this! Blippi runs over to an area of the stage with some sort of flat, hip height surface and pulls out a bunch of MINI MONSTER TRUCKS. We see him appear on the VIDEO WALL, much like he looks in his YouTube videos. BLIPPI Look what I have here- Monster Trucks!! Aren’t they so cool? Over the following, we see Blippi act out the motions and things he describes with the toy monster trucks. BLIPPI I love how they move so fast! And how their wheels can do awesome things- like wheelies! Whoooooooooooooo! And how can they climb over things! And sometimes they race around each other like this! Ha! I love them! Boy, I wish we had a Monster Truck here right now! But, hey- you know what? We can imagine we have a Monster Truck here right now! Would you imagine with me? Lets close our eyes and imagine really hard on the count of three! Ok- here we go- one, two, three! IMAGINE! BLIPPI LIVE BLIPPI SIDES #3 BLIPPI Isn’t Anna amazing? She loves animals so much! And I do, too! Do you have animals you love? Maybe you love your pets? Your dog or cat? Maybe you live near a farm? Cows? Pigs? Goats? Sheep? Horses? I love all of them! Or maybe you love the animals that live near your home? Birds or squirrels or bunnies or frogs? All of the animals! But you know what? I have a wish! I have always wished I could visit all of the animals under the sea! Have you ever thought about that? AUDIENCE RESPONDS. BLIPPI Have you ever wanted to visit all of the sea creatures that live underwater? Fish and turtles and whales and dolphins and sharks? Ooh! Sharks! Wouldn’t it be so cool to go underwater and visit all of those animals? If only we could! Blippi suddenly gets an idea. BLIPPI Wait a minute! I have an idea! We used our imaginations before to imagine Monster Trucks- what if we all used our imaginations again, together, to imagine visiting all of our animal friends underwater?! Would you imagine that with me? AUDIENCE RESPONDS. BLIPPI You will? Oh boy! Who knows what we will see! Ok then- let’s do it! Everybody stand up, real tall! AUDIENCE RISES. BLIPPI We’re gonna pretend like we’re jumping into the water! Ok, now, hold your nose and get ready to jump into the eater all together! Are your ready? It’s going to take some big imagining! Here we go! Ooh! And hold your nose! .

Kauffman All Rights Reserved SEATTLE’S SEAFARING SIREN 4 Abstract Many corporate brands tend to be built on a strong foundation of culture, but very minimal research seems to indicate a thorough analysis of the role of an organizational’s culture in its entirety pertaining to large corporations. This study analyzed various facets of Starbucks Coffee Company through use of the cultural approach to organizations theory in order to determine if the founding principles of Starbucks are evident in their organizational culture. Howard Schultz’ book “Onward” was analyzed and documented as the key textual artifact in which these principles originated. Along with these principles, Starbucks’ Website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube page were analyzed to determine how Starbucks’ culture was portrayed on these sites. The rhetorical analysis of Schultz’ book “Onward” conveyed that Starbucks’ culture is broken up into a professional portion and a personal portion, each overlapping one another in its principles. After sifting through various tweets, posts and videos, this study found that Starbucks has created a perfect balance of culture, which is fundamentally driven by their values and initiatives in coffee, ethics, relationships and storytelling. This study ultimately found that Starbucks’ organizational culture is not only carrying out their initiatives that they principally set out to perform, but they are also doing so across all platforms while engaging others to do the same.
