My graduating a semester early undoubtedly heightened the difficulty of the process for the both of us, but he never once allowed me to doubt that I would fail. I’ve known since he invited me to accompany him to India when I was a sophomore on a collaborative research project that he would have an everlasting impact on my life, both as my professor and as my friend. It is my sincerest hope to remain in touch with him after I leave the University, and for him to not want to edit or restructure anything I have written about him in expressing my gratitude above.
