May this New Year give you peace, prosperity and good health! As you know, the Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) has been constantly serving the disadvantaged society with a motto “Education to anyone and any- time”. It is also marching towards excellence in providing quality Distance Educa- tion. It’s systematic and robust learner support services assure sustainability and enhance the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in Indian Higher Education. The University used to formulate its Annual Plan every year and subsequent- ly works towards execution of them successfully. In 2021, it aims to ensure overall quality in all the activities, including revision of curricula, updated Self-Learning Materials, expansion of learner support services, empowering youth population with skill developments, implementation of automation for transparent adminis- tration, besides acquiring NA AC Accreditation. Further, it also makes appropri- ate plan to provide higher education to hitherto unreached rural mass, women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). To achieve our plan, I wish to solicit kind your cooperation for transforming Prof. K. Parthasarathy Tamilnadu as skilled and knowledgeable State in the nation. Parthasarathy Milestones in December 2020 • Organised Orientation Programmes for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs through the Constituent Community Colleges & Regional Centres in Viluppuram, Chennai and other Regional Centres of Trichy, Madurai, Darmapuri, Thirunelveli, The Nilgiris and Coimbatore. • Executed an MoU with the Directorate of Public Libraries for housing TNOU-SLMs at the 32 District Libraries in Tamil Nadu for the benefit of the public. • Brought out colourful and highly informative Brochure separately for each Regional Centres, as first of its kind in TNOU to create Public Perception about the University. • Designed Policy Documents like Institutional OER Policy, Policy on Promotion of Research and Policy on Consultancy Services. • Developed Programme Project Reports as per UGC-DEB Guidelines with updated syllabi for 80 UG and PG Programmes and uploaded in the University Website. • Conducted flawless Online Examination for the learners who enrolled since 2003. Orientation Programme for Co-ordinators in Viluppuram Region Prof. K. Parthasarathy, Vice Chancellor releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC & CCC, Viluppuram” s the Government of Tamilnadu mandated the University to establish the Learner Support Centres Ain 91 Government Arts and Science Colleges in the State, the TNOU has started organising the Orientation Programmes to the Coordinators in each Regional Centre. In view of this, Orientation Programme for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs under Viluppuram Region was conducted on 15.12.2020. In this programme, Prof. K. Parthasarathy, Vice Chancellor, TNOU, presided over and asked the participants to indentif y the aspirants, who could not be admitted in on campus and subsequently make them to join in TNOU for fulfilling their higher education dreams. He further said that it is the duty of the Co-oradinators to dispel the false belief about the value of the degree and diplomas obtained through distance mode. Awareness is to be created among the public that the certificates issued by the TNOU are duly eligible for employments, adhering to Government norms. TNOU Constituent On 22nd December, 2020, the Coordinator of the CCC visited Aruna Communit y Higher Secondary School, Kalumathur, Viluppuram and explained College, about the TNOU and Short-Term Programmes to the students and the staff Viluppuram of the School. Orientation Programme for Co-ordinators in THE NilgiriS Region Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Registrar releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC, The Nilgiris” rientation Programme for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs under the Nilgiris ORegion was conducted on 28.12.2020 at Govt. Arts College, Udhagamandalam. In this programme, Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Registrar, TNOU, released the Brochure of Regional Centre, The Nilgiris and delivered inaugural address. On the occasion, Dr. N. Saravanakumar, Regional Director, Regional Centre, The Nilgiris, welcomed the gathering. Dr. M. Eswaramurthy, Principal, Govt. Arts College, Udhagamandalam, chaired a sessions in this event and Dr. N. Parthasarathy, Vice Chancellor releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC & CCC, Chennai” rientation Programme for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs under Chennai ORegion was conducted on 29.12.2020 at Thiruvalluvar Mini Auditorium, TNOU, Chennai. In this programme, Prof. K. Parthasarathy, Vice Chancellor, TNOU, presided over the programme and released the Brochure of Regional Centre & CCCs, Chennai, Dr. C. Barathi, Regional Director, Regional Centre, Chennai welcomed the gathering. On this occasion, Felicitation was address delivered by Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi, Syndicate Member. Dr. M. V. Sudhakaran and Dr. P. Thiyagarajan, TNOU took part in the event and handled the sessions on various programmes offered by TNOU. Dr. R. Pragadheeswari, Co-ordinator, TNOU-CCC, Chennai proposed vote of thanks. Orientation Programme for Co-ordinators in Coimbatore Region Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Registrar releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC, Coimbatore” rientation Programme for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs under Coimbatore ORegion was conducted on 29.12.2020 at Govt. Arts College, Coimbatore . In this programme, Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Registrar, TNOU, released the Brochure of Regional Centre, Coimbatore and delivered inaugural address. On the occasion Dr. N. Saravanakumar Regional Director, Regional Centre, Coimbatore, welcomed the gathering. Dr. K. Chitra, Principal, Govt. Arts College, Coimbatore, Dr. M. Pugalenthi proposed the vote of thanks. Muthumanickam, Syndicate Member, TNOU, releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC, Madurai” rientation Programme for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs under Madurai ORegion was conducted on 30.12.2020 at Meenakshi Govt. Arts and Science College for Women, Madurai . In this programme, Dr. A. Muthumanickam, Syndicate Member, TNOU, presided over and released the Brochure of the Regional Centre, Madurai. On the occasion, Dr. I. Ambeth, Regional Director, Regional Centre, Madurai welcomed the gathering and the inaugural address was delivered by Dr. P. Ponmuthuramalingam, Joint Director of Collegiate Education , Madurai Region , Dr. S. Vanathi, Principal, Meenakshi Govt. Arts and Science College for Women, Madurai delivered a special address and Dr.J. Rosy Grace Angelene proposed the vote of thanks. Orientation Programme for Co-ordinators in Tiruchirapalli Region Dr. M.V. Sudhakaran, Director, SSSD, TNOU , releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC, Tiruchirapalli” rientation Programme for the Co-ordinators of TNOU – LSCs, LRCs and CCs under Tiruchirapalli ORegion was conducted on 31.12.2020 at Kalaiarangam, Tiruchirapalli. In this programme, Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi, Syndicate Member, TNOU, presided over the function. On the occasion Dr. P. Rajasekaran, Regional Director, Tiruchirapalli Region welcomed the gathering and the event was chaired by Dr. S. Usha, Joint Director of Collegiate Education , Thanjavur Region, Dr. A. Megala, Joint Director of Collegiate Education , Tiruchirapalli Region and Dr. M.V. Sudhakaran, Director, SSSD, TNOU , and Thiru. A. Arts College, Dharmapuri. In this programme, Dr. M. Manivannan, Controller of Examinations, TNOU, presided over the function and released the Brochure of Regional Centre, Dharmapuri. Dr. C. Jothi Venkateshan, Joint Director of Collegiate Education , Dharmapuri region, delivered inaugural Address. On the occasion Dr. T. Sampath Kumar, Syndicate Member & Regional Director, Dharmapuri Region welcomed the gathering and Dr. P.K. Killivalavan, Principal, Govt. Arts College, Dharmapuri, delivered special address and Mr. R. Shankar, Coordinator of LSC proposed the vote of thanks. Orientation Programme for Co-ordinators in Tirunelveli Region Dr. C.V. Mythili, Principal, Rani Anna Govt. Arts College for Women, Tirunelveli, releasing “The Brochure of TNOU – RC , Tirunelveli” he Orientation Programme for the Coordinators of TNOU LSCs, LRCs and CCs under the Tirunelveli Regional Centre was held on 31st December, 2020 (Thursday) by 10.30 a.m. at the TAuditorium, Rani Anna Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Tirunelveli – 627 008. Dr. S. Vinodh Kanna, Regional Director, TNOU Regional Centre welcomed the gathering. Dr. C. V.
