Free fireworks show! Summer debate camp at Hamilton high school! All students interested in Speech/Debate & Drama next year, please come to a meeting Tuesday at lunch in room 128. Coach Hallock has information about the summer events. Come sign up for the show and the camp! 2. Important Senior Announcement!! If you have received an award or scholarship, even if you are not accepting it, please bring in a copy to the counselors or office so that we can recognize your accomplishments. We need these now! 3. ATTENTION SENIORS: Do you realize that you have a 1 in 4 chance of winning a prize valued at $100 or more? What do you need to do? Sign up for the All-Night Grad party THIS WEEK! The cost is only $20 and you could win a MacBook Pro, Samsung smart TV’s, laptops, cash and much more! Turn in your money and registration to Linda in the office. The night will be full of fun, games, food and music. See you all there! 4. Did you know in the last 15 years, Hamilton’s cross country program has won 3 state championships, placed second 3 times and placed third twice? Every bit of success was earned by ordinary Hamilton students just like you. Think about it. 5. The Spring Luau is this Wednesday. If you are interested in showing your Lip Sync talents, please sign up in Mr. Fett's room. 6. Kids Summer Lunch Program at “The Outpost” 296 Marcus St. starts on June 6th every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12 to 1 PM. 18 and under eat free. 7. Here is your chance to donate Blood and help save a life: Wednesday, June 28th from 9:30 to 5 pm at the First Interstate Center – Fairgrounds. You do need to schedule an appointment. (363-3411) 8. Congratulations to the Students of the Week for the week of May 1st: Rachael Beck and Trevor Morrison – Great Showing at Special Olympics; Bailey Hayes – Helping with the Daly Emergency Drill: Keenan Athman, Connor Roundy, Bridger Syme, Will Torres, Nastasha Garrison, Rio Hammond, Tristy Searle, Thomas Dowdy, Jose Campo Vargas, Alex Raymond, Matt Wilson, Dorje McPherron, JT Vineyard, Henry Smith, and Maegan Montgomery for their Supperior Ratings at the MCTM Math Contest, Grace Davenport, Olivia Schmit, Finn Belanger, Hadley Gideon, and Alleah Jordan – the Envirothon team is on their way to the National Competition. 9. Congratulations to the Students of the Week for the Week of May 8th: JT Vineyard, Jason Stratemeyer, Ani Mason, Jyllian King and Sarah Trinh – Superior rating at the State Music Festival; Lyric McCabe, Ryan Craig, Sarah Passey Alex Raymond, Dee Dee Rogers, Lauren Ryter, Dylan Berglund, Tristan Hanson, Kale Wanner, Gus Courchesne and Owen Lint – Superior Gold Rating at the State Music festival; Darrel Moderie, Mary Carter, Shelby Cruse, Raymond Allison, Talon Vargovich and James D’Amato for their great work in the classrooms. 10. Our photographer Vince has generously donated many sports pictures to our school. We have a variety of pictures, group and single shots, that we would like to share with you. Stop by the table in front of the office and help yourselves. 11. Congratulations to last week’s Activity Achievers of the Week: Kelsie Meis, Sophia Doyle, & Sky Lopez for Softball; Reilly Rostad & Lyric DeVries for Girls’ Track & Field; Jaylen Taggart & Clay Kellar for Boys’ Track & Field; Holly Mahon for Girls’ Tennis; and Jose Campo for Boys’ Tennis. 12. Band & Percussion Members: please remember to bring a plate of treats to the concert tomorrow night. 13. Band & Percussion Members: please report to the bandroom today – right now and tomorrow for the B2 period. 14. Come enjoy a great night of music tomorrow night as our band and percussion have their pop concert. 15. All books are due back to the library today. Please check your backpacks, lockers and at home for any library items that you may have. Library will be closed to study hall students starting on May 30th. 16. Spring Sports Banquets: Track & Field is on Tuesday, May 30th at 6:30 in the Commons; Tennis is on May 31st at 6:30 in the commons; and Softball is also on May 31st at the Softball fields. 17. The Booster Club invites you to attend the All Sports Banquet on Thursday, June 1st starting at 6 PM. Students and parents are all invited. Cost is $7.00 . If you lettered in a Varsity sport this year, it is free 18. They are offering 5 - $5000 scholarships. If you are interested in pursuing a photography career check out their website: rmsp.com/hsscholarship “Luck of the Draw” Scholarship: Applicant must have an immediate relationship to the timber industry such as loggers, log truck drivers, chip truck drivers, and mill workers. See the counselors for additional requirements and how to apply. Deadline is Sept. 29th Seniors: We have another scholarship for any seniors that are planning on going into an art education. The Bitterroot Art Guild’s Fine Art Scholarship is a $500 scholarship and will be chosen on the artistic merit of the student’s work. Stop by the office to pick up the application. Deadline is May 15th. Seniors: MSU is offering the MSU Hilleman Scholars Program which is up to $16,000 in scholarship funds over 4 years. Apply at:www.montana.edu/hillemanscholars/ It is not too late to apply. Seniors: Universal Athletics will be awarding two scholarships to a Montana male and female student-athlete in the amount of $500 each to be used at a Montana college or university. Please see the counselors for more information and to pick up an application. Deadline is June 1st. Horatio Alger National Career and Technical $2500 Scholarship: If you are planning on enrolling in a career or technical program in the fall and have financial need, please check with the counselors about this scholarship. Deadline is June 15th. Senior Girls: Eisenberg, Gilchrist and Cutt Attorneys are offering the EGC Women in Law Scholarship. This is a $1500 award. Deadline is June 30th. The application can be found at: http://www.egclegal.com/salt-lake-city-utah-car-accidents-lawyer/#scholarship-application All Grade Levels Juniors Big Sky State Games Character Counts Scholarship recognizes the importance of sportsmanship and character. This will be awarded to Montana female and male student-citizen-athletes involved in the Big Sky State Games. This scholarship can be used for any secondary education after high school. See the counselors for more information. Any junior who may be interested in a career in government and/or politics, there is a unique and FREE summertime educational program focusing on governmental bodies and elected public officials, otherwise known as Boys and Girls State. Come and visit with Ms. Dondero for more information. Freshmen Any freshmen who are interested in attending a FREE leadership camp consisting of presentations by outstanding motivational speakers, leadership activities and discussion groups in Livingston, Montana please come visit with Ms. Dondero for more information. Award General Contests The 2018 Miss Montana Teen USA pageant will be this fall, Sept. 9th -10th. There are many cash awards, scholarships, and prizes that will be awarded. If you are interested, go see the counselors for more information. Programs Duke Summer Academy: This program draws students from around the world. Hundreds of students this year will be travelling from China to attend this incredible program. Whether you would like to learn from another culture, practice your Chinese, or make a friend from another part of the world, Duke Summer Academy is the right place for you. Go to their website to find out more: [email protected] Montana Wilderness School information: They provide empowering expeditionary wilderness courses to kids ages 14 to 18. These courses foster personal growth and cultivate a conservation ethic through connecting with remote landscapes and wild places. Courses include Woman’s Mountaineering, Montana Mountaineering, Missouri River Adventure, Yellowstone Expedition, and more. Scholarships are available.
