Tirnascobe often spelt Ternascobe in the local records is a of 538 acres. Both Tirnascobe and are now in the parish of Kildarton. Before 1836 at which date the parish boundaries were re-organised, Tirnasobe was in the parish of and Allaturk was in the parish of . Both townlands belonged to the Estate of the Rt Hon. the Earl of Charlemont. ~ \?l:- to Whitlocks found. Nicholas Whitlock of Loughgall is a churchwarden of Armagh Cathedral in 1798 where John and Susanna Whitlocks children were baptised. The other reference is found in a rental dated 1721-24 for the Manor of Castle Dillon property of the Hon. Samuel Molyneaux, a John Whitlock of Lagwilly (sic) leased 67 acres, 2 roods quite a substantial acreage. Several Freeholders registers for Co Armagh were consulted.

'=:?- The register for 1710-1726 (T2731/2) lists John Whitlock leasing part ofLegavilly 67 (\1\ I acres :ITomNathaniel St Andrew and Lady Eliz. Diana his wife, registered, 25 Mar. 1731. In the return of registered :ITeeholders in the of West 1813-21 we find 3 Whitlocks.

No 2234 Richard W}1jtlock leasing and residing lTl Legavilly Richard's lease is for the ~IO'b lives of John, Richard andM. Whitlock registered 18 Apr. 1814. ~ No 2407 Richard Whitlock (perhaps son of the above Richard) is registered 2 Nov. 1819. Leasing and residing in Legavilly. The lease is held for the lives of John, Richard and Maurice Whitlock. Maurice Whitlock is named as the leaseholder of this property in the Tithe Applotment Book of 1830 and is still in possession 1864 according to the Griffith Valuation.
