This 30’ is painted box car red with white Colorado & Southern herald and lettering. It was built in 1910 and serviced in April 1937. It runs on Bettendorf trucks. Commonly called coal cars, these cars were actually used for hauling ore, scrap iron, lumber and ballast, in addition to coal. The series 4498-4547 was the first group of steel framed gondolas built by C&S. Many of these gondolas were later converted to flat cars. NEW BODY STYLE!

This 50’ rib side box car with single door and no roofwalk is painted yellow with blue ends.
