SATURDAY, MAY 5, 2018 TENNESSEE RIVER MUSIC, INC. FORT PAYNE, ALABAMA DIXIELANDwelcomeDIXIELAND to DELIGHTDELIGHT 3535 It’s a beautiful April morning here on scenic Lookout Mountain, and I’m a very grateful man to be writing an invitation to our 35th anniversary sale. Lots of great memories and great people are part of our successful years in the purebred livestock business. We’ve been able, because of our Randy and Kelly Owen wonderful customers, to survive and flourish for all of these years. I’m looking forward to meeting everybody and hopefully getting to say “hello” to old friends and new friends. I care more deeply about my family and our cattle breeding than I ever have; what a wonderful experience this has been. I look forward to growing old with our grandkids, our children and our cattle. I want to thank Randa and John for expanding our breeding programs here at Tennessee River Music, Inc. John has been an amazing addition to our family. He works every day like you would hope to see a young cattleman work. Randa somehow manages to have a good balance between two beautiful children, Harper Rose and John Owen, and the everyday work load involved here at the ranch. I’ve often heard it said, nothing worth having is ever easy, and I know that John and Randa would agree. We operate debt free, and with God’s help and the support of our customers, we will continue to breed the best Hereford and Angus cattle we can. By the way, I will be performing Friday night, May 4th, for all of y’all at the barn where we hold the auction. Come have some fun with us, tap your feet, clap your hands, sing along. If you have requests, I’ll do my best to do those songs, or you may want to join in with us on a song or two. is is my way of saying a special “thank you” for all of the years and for all of the wonderful supporters who attend our production sales, and for those customers of Lookout Mountain Genetics, which has become more and more successful through your support. It’s a beautiful time of the year to visit scenic Little River Canyon on Lookout Mountain, so make plans to spend a couple of days, at least, with us here in Northeast Alabama. anks to Roland and Janet Starnes (John’s parents) and Tyler Owen at the farm, who work with the cow herd and do such a wonderful job—I’m very proud of them. anks to Stephanie and Jess at Lookout Mountain Genetics. Some really nice Hereford and Angus genetics will be offered and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone May 4th and 5th, 2018. It seems like yesterday we were just preparing for last year’s sale. It’s said that the days are long, but the years are short. Ranch life sure makes that statement ring true as you work sun up till sun down, yet each year’s breeding season and then calf crop seems to come faster and faster. Still, our goal here is to provide high-quality, dependable genetics built with longevity and do ability for their new owner. We feel like these cattle are our best set yet. From the proven donors that sell to the spring calving cows with calves at side, the proof is in these cattle and the job they do. Honesty and integrity are something we take very seriously, and the TRM motto is quite simple. We raise the type and kind of livestock that are stout, sound and FUNCTIONAL and can flat get the work done all while having adequate EPD profiles. John, Randa, Harper and John Owen Starnes We are truly blessed to work side by side with our family and loved ones. Living and working with family on our cattle operation is something we don’t take for granted, and we are forever grateful to the good Lord above for the blessing of being able to do what we love. We can’t thank “Da” Roland, cousin Tyler, Nonnie, Poppy and Mimi enough for all they do here at TRM and for us as a family. Our customers mean the world to us, and we realize that without Roland and Janet each and every one of you, none of what we do would be possible. We are Starnes forever grateful for our past, present and future customers. Please make plans to join us Friday, May 4th to view the cattle and enjoy fellowship and a good meal at our country social. If you ever need anything or if we could help you in any way, please don’t hesitate to call anyone here at the ranch. We appreciate each one of you and value our friendship more than you could imagine. TRM has assembled a sound, functional set of cattle that excel in phenotype and individual performance while maintaining a strong genetic base with numerical balance and diversity.
