Kevin/Marcus Tak Menampik Incar Emas bagi Indonesia di Olimpiade Tokyo Realitarakyat.com – Ganda putra Indonesia, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, tidak menampik bahwa mereka mengincar medali emas di Olimpiade Tokyo setelah mengamankan tiket perempat final pada Senin (26/7/2021). Mesi demikan, Kevin/Marcus mengaku tidak mau terbebani dengan ambisi tersebut, apalagi perjalanan menuju perebutan medali masih panjang. “Kami ingin memenangi medali emas, tetapi pertandingan masih panjang. Kami tidak ingin menambah tekanan itu,” kata Marcus, usai memenangi laga kedua penyisihan grup melawan pasangan India Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/ Chirag Shetty, dikutip laman BWF. Kevin/Marcus telah memastikan satu tempat di perempat final seusai menyingkirkan Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty dalam laga kedua fase penyisihan Grup A Olimpiade Tokyo. Pasangan peringkat satu dunia itu menang dalam dua gim langsung 21-13, 21-12 dalam pertandingan selama 32 menit. Meski sudah dipastikan lolos ke perempat final, Kevin/Marcus masih mempunyai satu pertandingan terakhir fase penyisihan menghadapi pasangan asal Taiwan, Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin, Selasa (27/7) besok. Marcus menambahkan bahwa status unggulan pertama di Tokyo tidak menjamin mereka bisa terus menang di seluruh pertandingan. Yang terpenting baginya adalah bagaimana dia dan Kevin bisa menikmati setiap pertandingan yang ada di depan mata. “Kami hanya ingin menikmati setiap pertandingan selangkah demi selangkah. Rekan kami (Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan) adalah pasangan yang hebat, tetapi semuanya juga hebat di sini,” ujar Gideon. (ndi). -

Last November, top badminton stars joined HSBC executives at ‘City Badminton’ in Hong Kong for an initiative by HSBC Life. This saw community groups, including the Hong Kong Sports Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, students from Pui Kiu College, local junior talents, HSBC staff and shoppers at host venue Olympian City two participate in badminton activities such as coaching clinics and play-to- win contests. They were also shown the physical and mental benefits of exercise. More than 3,000 people took part in this venture. DAILY GK UPDATE GK F NATIONAL UPDATES: 1. ‘Aarambh’, common foundation course for IAS probationers held in Statue of Unity: The Centre’s first-ever common foundation course “Aarambh” (Beginning) for 2019 batch probationer civil servants has begun at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat. There are around 500 newly recruited bureaucrats are undergoing six-day training. The theme this year is ‘How to achieve the goal of making India a 5 trillion dollar economy’. 2. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launches 'Odisha Mo Parivar' programme: The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has launched a social service initiative aimed at encouraging environment protection, blood donation and the welfare of Odias in distress. Under the 'Odisha Mo Parivar' (Odisha, my family) programme, party leaders will dedicate themselves to protect the environment and undertake extensive planting of trees, and create awareness among the public. Govt set up a committee of secretaries (CoS) to help ease stress in the telecom sector: The government has constituted a Committee of Secretaries to work out a financial bailout package that may include lowering of spectrum charges as well as ending the era of free mobile phone calls and dirt cheap data. The committee will be headed by Cabinet Secretary, Rajiv Gauba and secretaries from finance, law, telecom ministries will be its members. The panel will comprise of secretaries to the ministries of finance, law, and telecom. The panel has been asked to look at the demands of telecom service providers (TSPs) for deferment of payments they had promised for the spectrum won through auction as well as consider lowering airwave usage charge.
