The Fibrillating Heart SEPTEMBER, 24-26 ISCAT 2012 International PULLMAN MONTPARNASSE Symposium on Catheter Ablation Techniques PARIS www.iscat.net The Fibrillating Heart CALL FOR PAPERS Preliminary Paper submission Program deadline: nd, 2012 July 2 FMC 13èmes Journées de Travail du Groupe de Rythmologie et de Stimulation Cardiaque The Fibrillating Heart MONDAY SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 - MODIGLIANI ROOM The Ninth Annual International Symposium on Catheter Ablation Techniques will be held in Paris, 24-26 September 2012. Over the last 16 years, the field of Electrophysiology and Catheter Ablation has rapidly evolved, experiencing profound changes in indications, techniques and technologies. Iscat aims to give an overview of the field of catheter ablation providing access to the best scientific knowledge. The first half day, Monday morning, will be devoted to “classical” electrophysiology and catheter ablation. At the request of many participants in previous editions, we will use these sessions to explore both the basics and current trends of this field. Monday afternoon, Tuesday and Wednesday will be fully dedicated to the International Symposium on ”The Fibrillating Heart“ with internationally renowned leaders in the field. All technical and clinical aspects of current methods for ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias will be discussed. Importantly, the very popular sessions dedicated to the laboratory technicians will be reinforced. Finally, we will increase the time devoted to electrophysiologists in training with the help of the Reunion of European countries for the Treatment of Arrhythmias in Cardiology (RETAC) in highly practical sessions. As for the previous editions, the Rythmology and Stimulation Group of the French Society of Cardiology and EHRA will contribute significantly to our programme. We do hope that you have enjoyed the previous editions and we will be very happy to welcome you again or perhaps for the first time in Paris in the Fall of 2012. Pr. E. ALIOT Pr. M. HAÏSSAGUERRE Pr. Patrick Bouvet is eight years old and does not yet know that this innocent pastime will lead him on countless adventures, from book to book forging a whole universe: his very own. Nor does he know that years later, on emerging from this universe, he will go on to write incisive and subversive texts that explore modern mythologies. Confined in his childhood home, between a father who reads newspapers to follow the racing form, and a mother who seems to have been undermined by a heavy secret, the author opens his “book from within”. He reveals—in his own way, orchestrating the slide from one family scene to the next—his career path, that of a reader who became a writer. Born in 1962, Patrick Bouvet is a writer and musician. Mixing writing and performance, he is one of the most brilliant artist of his genera- tion’s underground scene.

€35 E.U. (pb). ISBN 2-9510558-3-8. Review by Stephen Murray, Columbia University. This monograph on a portion of the late Gothic work at the cathedral of Rouen unfolds in three parts. After a brief historiographical, historical and institutional sketch, part one provides an intensive architectural analysis of the transept façades constructed between 1281 and the 1320s. The axial chapel (chapelle de la Vierge), although featured in the book’s title, does not receive systematic analysis, the author’s main concern being chronology (the construction of the chapel after the north transept but before the south) and the chapel’s function in the builders’ agenda. The transept of Notre-Dame of Paris is identified as the essential source for the Rouennais transept: Parisian ideas were fully assimilated and developed in the powerful sculptural articulation of the north and particularly of the south transept of Rouen. Such was the success of the Rouennais work that a regional “school” of late Gothic was formed. Part two is devoted to sculpture with an assessment of the iconographic program and descriptive analysis and chronology. Some interesting pages explore gesture and stance.
