TODAY’S PROBABLE RHP Brandon McCarthy is expected to make his third start of the spring after picking up the win on March 10 against the Rangers. In that game he went 3.0 innings, gave up one hit and struck out three. After starting last year 2-0 with a 1.61 ERA (4 ER/22.1 IP) through four starts, McCarthy struggled down the stretch, going 0-3 with a 9.17 ERA (18 ER/17.2 IP) in his final six games (five starts). The 33-year-old spent two seasons with Arizona in 2013-14, going 8-21 with a 4.75 ERA in 40 starts.

LHP Julio Urías will make his fourth appearance of the spring and hopes to keep the form of his last two games. Last appeared on March 10 when he went 2.0 innings, walked one and struck out three. The lefty saw his first Major League action last year and enters his fifth professional season with the Dodgers. In his debut season the 20-year-old phenom went 5- 2 with a 3.39 ERA in 18 games (15 starts). In the spirit of breaking age barriers, Urías became the youngest Dodger ever to appear in a postseason game at 20 years, 62 days in 2016 NLDS Game 5.

The southpaw is entering his third Major League season with the Dodgers while posting a 1.19 WHIP and limiting hitters to a .225 batting average in addition to striking out 76 batters against 26 walks in 72.1 innings.

RHP Chris Hatcher had his best outing of the spring on March 12 when he pitched 1.0 inning of hitless ball and struck out two White Sox. He enters his third season with the Dodgers after an injury-shortened season in 2016. Hatcher appeared in 37 games, going 5-4 with a 5.53 ERA (25 ER/40.2 IP), before being placed on the disabled list on July 20, where he remained for the duration of the season with a strained left oblique.
