Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} The Man On Platform Five by Robert Llewellyn Robert Llewellyn. Robert Llewellyn is the actor who portrays Kryten from Series III to Series XII. He has also appeared as the presenter of Scrapheap Challenge which ran from 1998-2010 on Channel 4, the host of the web series Carpool which ran from 2009-2014, and as host of the YouTube channel Fully Charged which started in 2010 and still uploads today. Starring on Red Dwarf. Llewellyn's involvement with Red Dwarf came about as a result of his appearance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, performing in his comedy, Mammon, Robot Born Of Woman . He was invited to audition for the role of Kryten, by Paul Jackson, before joining the cast for Series III. The story is about a robot who, as he becomes more human, begins to behave increasingly badly. This was seen by Paul Jackson, producer of Red Dwarf , and he was invited to audition for the role of Kryten. Llewellyn joined the cast of Red Dwarf in 1989 at the start of Series III and continued in the role until the end of Series VIII in 1999. His skills as a physical performer encouraged Rob Grant and Doug Naylor to write him additional characters for the series, namely Jim Reaper ("The Last Day"), the Data Doctor ("Back in the Red II"), Human Kryten ("DNA"), Bongo ("Dimension Jump") and Able ("Beyond a Joke"). Llewellyn co- wrote the Red Dwarf Series VII episode "Beyond A Joke" with Doug Naylor. He was also the only British cast member originally to participate in the American version of Red Dwarf , though other actors such as Craig Charles and Chris Barrie were also approached to reprise their roles. -

MEDIA ALERT 2nd April 2020 BBC EARTH CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF EARTH DAY WITH A SPECIAL WEEK OF PROGRAMMING View Earth Week trailer BBC Earth is celebrating 50 years of Earth Day with Earth Week, a special line-up of programming which looks at the beauty of our planet both up close and from far away and explores our vital role in ensuring its future. Screening each evening at 8.30pm from Monday, April 20, the week kicks off with the premiere of Blue Planet Revisited, exploring the challenges facing the marine eco-system and wildlife in the Great Barrier Reef and the Bahamas. The cameras then move from under the ocean to hundreds of kilometres up in the sky in Earth From Space, capturing natural spectacles on an epic scale and showing viewers the planet’s extraordinary beauty and diversity in astonishing detail. The week will finish with a special Sunday screening of every episode of David Attenborough’s iconic Planet Earth II. Presented by Liz Bonnin, Chris Packham and Steve Backshall, Blue Planet Revisited returns to two key locations featured in Blue Planet II to see how things have changed, talk to the scientists who know our oceans best and give us a snapshot of the health of the ocean. With the breeding season underway, the series focuses on the action following whales and their calves and turtles and their hatchlings together with spectacular footage of shark dives in the Bahamas and the underwater dawn chorus of the Great Barrier Reef, home to 600 different kinds of coral and more than 1500 species of fish. -

The BBC welcomes the opportunity to respond to Ofcom’s Initial Consultation: Fees review for fixed link and satellite services published on 21 May 2015. Accordingly, we set out an initial response below along with further detail where most relevant. We look forward to further engagement as Ofcom’s proposals are developed. 2. The BBC is committed to efficient use of spectrum as well as providing value for money for licence fee payers. These responsibilities apply both to programme making and distribution functions which ultimately deliver services enjoyed by 97% of UK adults each week.1 3. The BBC uses fixed and satellite services for programme making and distribution, holding Wireless Telegraphy Act licences as well as contracts with commercial providers of services that use spectrum. 4. Nationally, the BBC’s direct-to-home (DTH) satellite distribution enables the provision of important coverage to populations out of reach of the terrestrial transmitter network. This helps ensure universal coverage so all households, across all parts of the UK, can access BBC services on at least one platform. 5. In addition to uplinks for DTH satellites, fixed and satellite links also comprise a vital part of the BBC’s distribution network providing DTT, DAB and analogue radio signals to transmitters. -

Wednesday November 9 BBC Worldwide ANZ and Nine agree deal for highly anticipated Planet Earth sequel BBC Worldwide (ANZ) has announced a deal which will see the sequel to the hugely popular Planet Earth series premiere on Nine in Australia soon. Planet Earth II is the new natural history series narrated by David Attenborough and produced by the BBC’s acclaimed Natural History Unit. Capturing an estimated half a billion people worldwide, the original Planet Earth was the first natural history series to be filmed in high definition. Now ten years on Planet Earth II is the first full series in Ultra Hi-Definition, utilising the latest filming technology to reveal the natural world in entirely new ways. Through methods such as camera-stabilisation as well as remote recording and aerial drone technology, the six-part documentary invites viewers to witness creatures and behaviours so elusive that they were considered almost impossible to capture. The programme premiered on BBC One in the UK on Sunday evening and drew an incredible 9.2 million viewers in overnight figures. It was the UK’s highest rated Natural History title in nearly 15 years. BBC Worldwide ANZ’s Director of Content Sales, Irene Read, says: “This is a spectacular series that has all the wow-factor of the original Planet Earth, with the added benefit of new technology to capture the scale of our planet and get close to its animals in a way that was not possible ten years ago.
