Rector of St. Mary's, Colchester, and translator of " Aristotle on Poetry," with his halfbrother Richard Twining I (1749-1824), tea merchant, of Devereux Court, Strand, and other members of the family, and with Dr. , the musician. Selections from the correspondence, which includes occasional letters in French and Italian, drawings, verses, and bars of music, have been publislied by Richard Twining III (1807-1906) in A Country Clergyman of the XVIII Century , 1882, and Selections from Papers of the Twining Family, 1887. Notes and transcripts of letters not contained in the autograph series, made during the preparation of these publications, are included. The names of the writers of letters are given in the Index.
